… and the drought continues….
Scrumdown, commisserations!
What a dissapointing result. Jantjies made two crucial mistakes which cost the Lions the match.
Bad luck Lions. Your time will come. This team is growing and will be a whole lot better next year. Give them a year with Mitchell.
Well done Blues.
I guess the Lions supporters will have to get smashed for a different reason tonight, shame man!
Lions now 667 days without a Super Rugby win, and I’m afraid this may well spell the death of theirseason.
A good crowd for a Friday night, but the JHB spectator is a fickle bastard at the best of times, and they’re not interested in seeiong close things. They want wins, and believe me, you can have U2 playing at halftime, but ultimately winning games is what puts bums on seats.
Lets see what the “slimkoppe” have to say after this affair.
The Lions snatched defeat from the jaws of victory (again), and that’s for sure.
MOTM Luke McAlister
It was agood rugby match though, highly entertaining
@ McLook:
What about Vermaak who tried to go it alone with a 2 man overlap and butchered it?
That’s probably why Mitchell took him off.
Too many schoolboy like errors from a side that have the talent but it seems not the common sense.
Gonna be a difficult match report to write without slamming the Lions too much, but hey, my shoulders are broad and after all, a spade is a spade.
John Mitchell is going to be fuming at the After Match Presser
Little errors and wrong options… that is the tale of the Lions.
I better schedule the Game Threads for tomorrow… see you!
@ Scrumdown:
Ditto, but toughies none the less! Lions almost had this one in the bag before the break.
@ Scrumdown:I reckon the Lions butchered at least 4 tries with poor decision making, running poor supportive lines and not being patient enough. Lack of experience all over and lack of cool heads in the playmaking positions is their big problem. They lose composure to often in too many areas of the game; at the breakdowns; carrying the ball; in the lineouts; on defence and espacially close to the tryline.
Bokkoors noem ons dit in Afrikaans. Heeltemal te bewerig as dinge begin warm raak op aanval en verdediging.
They need to calm down and keep their focus on everyone just doing his task with precision and impact in every situation. The win will come.
so by the way what did the Blues player do so cynical just before halftime to cop the yellow card?
