Melbourne Rebels star flyhalf has been fined one match payment for his role in a nightclub incident involving a bottle of Vodka.
Cipriani allegedly reached over and helped himself to a bottle of Vodka in a Melbourne nightclub and was then asked to leave the club.
The incident happened after the Rebels lost their opening match 0-42.
In their second match Cipriani held his nerve in the closing stages of their match against the Brumbies and kicked the match winning penalty.
Cipriani went before the Rebels’ player standards group on Tuesday where he learnt of his punishment.
In a statement released by the Rebels Cipriani said that he regretted that incident..
“I have apologised for my actions and I regret any embarrassment my behaviour has caused to the Rebels, ” he said.
“I am looking forward to putting this incident behind me, focusing on my rugby and contributing positively to the team’s culture.
“As my behaviour was not in line with our pledge, if anything else happens along these lines again I have agreed with the players that I will stand down for an appropriate period of time. ”
Cipriani is now free to play in this weekend’s Rebels match against the Chiefs.
I guess you take this man to a place only three times.
The first time for himm to make “droog”
The second time to apologise
The third time after a frisk search to return the stolen goods.
More and more like an Aussie every day.
You can dress a bag of shit up in a R 20 000 suit, but it’s still a bag of shit!
How many of us did this , if the bloody barman is slow and you and your pals are thirsty. Or maybe someone dared him. Shame the spotlight these young players are under.
In my club days the whole team would be banned for stopping the bus for a piss parade. We had so many times on the bus a stolen bottle its not even a joke. The thief was the Hero. Brave .
@ superBul:
SB, The difference is we were amateurs having a great time. Cipriani is a highly paid professional sportsman.
Brave, maybe, stupid, definitely.
I deny categorically that I have ever stolen Vodka…. hehehe

However the finger of suspicion was pointed in your direction when the condensed milk went missing!! 🙂
7@ Blue Bird:
Stole my mum’s condensed milk once… put it in the pressure cooker and decided to make Caramel… but I was used to boiling it in the normal pot, for three hours…
… of course in a pressure cooker, you only had to put it in for an hour, but I did not know that…
The whole kabbodle exploded in the kitchen…. black caramel-like sticky shit everywhere…
It literally took days to clean the kitchen, the ceiling had to be repainted and the kitchen curtains thrown away… the extractor had to be taken apart, part by part and cleaned…. and never worked the same…
… luckily I now own that property….. hehehe
7@ Blue Bird:
Still is….
@ grootblousmile:
😆
No wonder you are not much of a cook…now scared witless!!
Sorry, pages taking so long to refresh….I am ducking out.
See you 🙂
Busy sipping on a Golden Hanepoot…. desert wine… in a huge wine glass.
I would be willing to steal the stuff if nobody wanted to sell me some…. hehehe
I used to steal condensed milk and after finishing the tin I would hide it under my sister’s bed. When the maid or my parents found it, i obviously knew nothing about it. She had to take the heat.
