Waratahs (16) 30 / Reds (6) 6 (Final Score)
The Waratahs hosted the Reds at ANZ Stadium, Sydney at 10:40 SA Time (19:40 AEDT). This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcat live on SuperSport 1 & M-Net.
The Waratahs eased past the Reds for a bonus point win and 10 Log Points from 2 games. The Reds were woeful, with a plethera of handling mistakes and wrong options marring their game.
It certainly looks like the Waratahs are the Australian team to watch this season.

Duly noted…. hehehe
I picked the Tahs on SuperBru for this game… by 7
I think I was too conservative, as things look now
GBS i can not wait for the 2 most talked about teams to take each other on tonight, i picked the Stormers , only because they are at home.
Quade (Surfer Dude) Cooper does some brilliant things and some really stupid stuff as well.
33@ superBul:
Yip, actually looking forward to both Super Rugby games later… both should be good.
Picked the Tjarks by 7 and the Stormers by 7 too
Try Dave Dennis of the Tahs…. simple easy… too easy
Tahs 16 / 3
GBS @ 34 There is no more fitting description of Quade Cooper than your ‘surfer dude’ nick name.
Tahs tackling hard… Polota Nua… head on the wrong side of the tackle… Davies was also a bit wonky from the tackle on him
38@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:
Hehehe… I like giving nicknames….
Rod Davies off… took a bad knock.
Does’nt look like he’ll be back.
Surfer Dude goes for posts from a penalty and it’s over.
Tahs 16 / 6

Watch out for Lions at Newlands, I have a funny feeling about this one….
hahaha surfer dude does it again . . .
So, who was the maniac at ARU headquarters who made the decision to move this match from the home of Waratahs rugby, Sydney Football Stadium, to the Olympic Stadium? A 40,000 crowd at the SFS would have been tremendous, whilst 40,000 at the Olympic looks only half full.
42@ Pietman:
You’re right.
Stormers could be nervous in their first game and Lions could capitalize.
Teams very similar in the sense that they sit with weaker front rows and one light lock… and both with good running backlines.
Think Stormers defence will pull it through for them… and they’re at home.
…. but I certainly won’t be surprised by a Lions win.
gesien op Lions site , is dit rerig al so lank?
Kingpaul : More more!! om te dink, vandag is dit presies 660 dae vandat die Lions laas ‘n Supperugby game gewen het!! More is dit 661…
2nd Half on!
Phil (Shrek) Waugh off for the Tahs, replaced
Free kick for Tahs from a scrum.
Once again an early engage call…. because the freegin refs do not call it quick enough
Another scrum penalty… there’s been 4 scrums… one completed scrum, 2 Free kicks, one penalty… that tells you the story
Barnes luckily misses the penalty
Try Lachie Turner for Tahs
Is everything right in that ruck, i am losing this game , sometimes i can not believe how balls can be won like that.
Tahs 23 / 6
Penalty Reds.. they go for touch
Reds het laasweek die tyd ingeskop en oorgevat kan hulle weer
Jis die Reds knock elke bal
Reds looking like the Reds of 2009 and before…. not up to it, somehow
… or is the Tahs just better this year… look at their game last week against the Rebels…
Berrick Barnes took a hard knock… he’s a bit unsteady.
Ben Daly off with an injured arm
@ grootblousmile:
Kyk hoe loop die wARATHS oor die mauls, hulle dryf die ouens af van die bal, Bulle moet dit dan ook maar doen
