Waratahs (16) 30 / Reds (6) 6 (Final Score)
The Waratahs hosted the Reds at ANZ Stadium, Sydney at 10:40 SA Time (19:40 AEDT). This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcat live on SuperSport 1 & M-Net.
The Waratahs eased past the Reds for a bonus point win and 10 Log Points from 2 games. The Reds were woeful, with a plethera of handling mistakes and wrong options marring their game.
It certainly looks like the Waratahs are the Australian team to watch this season.

@ bdb:89 – BdB agree with you. Also watching the NZ rugby show. They thought NZ had the toughest conference, I doubt that very much. Always have said the toughest conference is the South African one. No easy teams here to play against. Saffa teams just raise their game against each other.
Then the Rebels beat Brumbies yesterday, so that was something I never expected. Have to see how this S15 goes. I personally don’t like the format at all. Think it is flawed and not fair. All conference teams should play every overseas team once and not miss two. Look Sharks miss playing Landers and Reds. Bulls I know miss playing Blues. Not sure which saffa side misses playing Tahs. There is a big difference playing some and not playing others. Not good this format.
Let me go do a Combined Game Thread for the 2 Six Nations games today and the lessor Vodacom Cp game between the Sharks / Blue Bulls…. as well as 2 seperate Game Threads for the 2 remaing Super Rugby Matches in SA today.
I will only really be able to concentrate on the Super Rugby matches whilst the 2 Six Nations matches are on… so only expect Score Updates there, from time to time. Unfortunately their time overlap with the Super Rugby.
Puma @ 90 indeed, the Melbournians love to watch sport, they will pay big bucks just to watch two flies going up a wall!!!
The Rebels will have a successful future if they win a few matches. Remember, the Melbourne crowds never get to watch international games, as the Aussie Rules is an internal competition. I think they will really take to the Super Rugby formate.
Aussie Rules football provides an extremely entertaining atmosphere at each and every match, something for our game to learn from. Nothing matches their overall atmosphere and X factor.
JUAN SMITH OUT OF WORLD CUP. Has torn his achilles tendon.
Feel sad for him actually. What a great servant he has been to Cheetahs and Bok rugby.
Now Alberts has everything to play for. Really hope NO injuries to him. This damn season before world cup is just way to long.
@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:93 – OldG, It was really brilliant watching the Rebels supporters. I watched as they got their first points on S15, the penalty. Wow!!!!! The stadium went wild….hahahaha. Really fantastic to see that. Melbourne is a great city and if they are getting support like that, their team will grow with confidence.
95@ Puma:
That’s sad for Juan and Cheetahs and Bokke…. but a huge opportunity for the Likes of Alberts, Deysel, Dewald Potgieter.
Personally I would think Alberts has the inside line for the berth.
@ grootblousmile:97 – Sure is sad boet, I think we gonna miss Juan in the world cup.
Also think Alberts has the inside lane for that position. Now must not get injured. This season far to long before the wc.
GBS, go read Dan Retiefs article. (Last Man Standing) on his site. He speaks about this thing.
Here is his addie, you might have it already. http://www.danretief.com
