Cheetahs (11) 23 / Bulls (8) 25 (Final Score)
The Toyota Cheetahs hosted the Vodacom Bulls at Free State Stadium, Bloemfontein at 19:10 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1 and CSN on TV in SA.
Once again a game of two halves for the Bulls, this time extremely lacklustre in the first half and on fire after the break, when they decided to keep more possession.
It was hard, it was brutal, it was close… it was a derby!

Bulls win as Riaan Viljoen misses a drop goal after the hooter
Ag no i really feel for all Cheetah supporters this was heartbreak. Now let the accusations start.
@ Puma:
Hi Pumes,
Is this a good game to watch?
Two indifferent games by the Bulls , this derby games are so bloody tough. Currie Cup of the old days all over again
@ superBul:
Need a neck massage after all that tension?? 🙂
Well done Bulls. BUT I have to be very honest. Bulls are lucky here. Cheetahs should have won that game had it not been for that very daft pass by Johnson, that allowed Danie his try. Also so many missed kicks at posts by Cheetahs.
Bulls will feel like they pulled this one out the bag. Will have to get better to play the bigger teams I feel. For now a win is a win. That all that matters.
Hard luck Cheetahs but well done Bulls.
Sjoe, nerves shot…. Bulls forwards pulled it through with hte big boys like Danie Pakslae and big Flip van der Merwe.
With the heavies on, the Cheetahs scrum could not hold any more.
@ Blue Bird:
No it was not by the Bulls, if we steal wins like this it is OK but we must get to the drawing board fast.
@ Puma:
Ditto
How many games have the Bulls ground out like that. I love being a Bulls supporter. Well done boys. Valiant effort Cheetahs. This is a long comp. Bulls are starting slow, just like they always do in super rugby.
@ superBul:171 – Ja ek het mos gese, just like I said the CC is probably the most tough tourney of all. This just goes to show, EK is REG…hehehehehe.
Bad first 60 minutes by the Bulls…. but it takes huge cahoonies to come back from so far down and toughing out a win.
