Rebels (0) 0 / Waratahs (10) 43 (Final Score)
The Melbourne Rebels, the debutant team of the Super Rugby Series, hosted the Waratahs at AAMI Park, Melbourne at 19:40 AEDT (10:40 SA Time). This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1, SHD & CSN on TV in SA.
After a slow start by the Waratahs they just got better and better… or is it that the Rebels fell away more and more…. resulting in a scoreless sheet for the Rebels against 7 tries by the Waratahs.
Not a good debut for the Rebels at all.

Much better attendance and crowd atmosphere at this game than the Canes / Landers game
Time is up….
Game OVER!
Rebels taught a lesson, a massive one!
BluePete… come talk to us

Hehehe… of course, between the sand and Osama’s people you HAVE TO keep track of the rugby!
Nouja, ek moet seker ook ‘n paar tille slaan….
Gooooooooooooi Mieliesssssssssss
met die patetiese rebels lyk dit my of die lions gaan nie die jaar weer laaste eindig nie..dit was nou n pak.
Look, the 1st game between the Canes and Highlanders produced a shock result…. but to an extent the 2nd game (this game) also produced a shock result.
This game started out with the Rebels on fire and brimming with confidence… they had the majority of possession early on…. but the Tahs were patient, like slow poison, slowly getting into the game and then just getting better and harder as the match progressed.
To me, that is the sign of a truly good side…. think about it. Last year the Bulle came back from 20 points down on a few occasions early on to just get stronger and eventually suffocate the life out of teams… and eventually they took the title with consumate ease against a Stormers side who was not too shabby themselves.
Early warning from the Tahs…
What impressed me however of the Tahs was the TOTAL CONTROL, of all facets of play, they managed towards the end… and the fact that their midset was not to sit on a good lead, but rather to really hammer the nails home and go for that final kill… the ruthlessness.
That is good rugby, that is winning rugby.
As ‘n ander span lê, skop hom gerus sommer verder… neuk hulle goed!
hey gbs
have you ever played the prediction game on testrugby.com?
think it wouldve been a nice concept for us (rugby-talk) to try out,
but
it might be a bit late for the current competition.
..
have a look and see whether you can come up with something similar?
..
cheers
anyway
what a hectic day!!
..
if i watched 5 minutes in total from both games … then it wouldve been a lot
..
not working tomorrow though …. yeeeeeeeehaaaaa, so should be able to watch the games …. if i’m not still in la-la land then … brother-in-law is visiting, so we’ll be celebrating a bit 😆
