Stormers (3) 17 / Sharks (10) 16 (Final Score)
The Stormers hosted the Sharks in the last of the Tri-Series warm-up games in preparation for the Super Rugby Tournament at 17:00 SA Time. This was the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 2 & M-Net on TV in SA.
In an error-ridden game the Sharks took the iniative and controlled most of the game till too many substitutions, to key players, derailed their game and allowed the Stormers to fight back and steal a win near the end.
I would not read too much into this game or the result, except maybe that Patrick Lambie’s goal kicking is still shoddy, that Meyer Bosman and Stefan Terblanche make a fine center combination and that the Stormers do not lie down to be defeated….

Lambie has an easy one at posts…. oi and he pushes it way out right… man, this oke can’t kick!
Lemoenetyd
Time to go fill the drinks…
Wat is die Stormers se nuwe lied: We all live in a Yellow Submarine ?
31: SA soek nog na ‘n betroubare skopper as back up na Steyn. Lambie is OK, maar nie ‘n klassieke losskakel nie. Ek sal soos Eng maak, een jong en een oud ervare losskakel (Flood en Wilkinson): Steyn en James.
What do we conclude from this game and the other warm-ups…. maybe only that the Lions are showing some serious intent….
34@ bdb:
Ek hou nie van Butch James nie… miskien eerder Morné Steyn & Elton Jantjies??
2nd Half on!
36: Jnatjies skop baie beter pale toe as Lambtjops, so hy kan ‘n goeie opsie wees. Sal sien wie steek hande op tydens s15.
Lambie going to posts again from an early 2nd half penalty.
He just gets it over.
Sharks 13 / 3
Now a very kickable Stormers penalty for a high tackle on Habana.
One Lock and Beast off, both for blood… head clash.
Oi, Gary van Aswegen kicks a penalty out in In-goal…. what a waste.
Good line kick from a penalty by Van Aswegen… but it all comes to nothing as the Sharkks turn a vital ball over.
Bulle 12-0
The game has now deteriorated….
Jacques-Louis Potgieter on for Lambie…
Few other subs as well… for Stormers too
Dewaldt Duvenage on for Januarie…. and there’s immediate action….
44@ bdb:
Hoeveel tyd is verstreke in daai game?
This game has now broken down terribly…. and what does one learn when so many subs are on the field?
47: 30 min
One thing the Sharks will be concerned about is their lineouts… but we have to remember they’re missing 3 frontline locks.
49@ bdb:
Thanks!
Slegte getjommel nou.
Time to start looking at who put their hands up….
Meyer Bosman & Oupa Terblanche for Sharks…. with Willem Alberts also working hard.
On Stormers side one can say that Duane Vermeulen has shone and that Gio Aplon has tried hard.
Jacques-Louis Potgieter slots a penalty.
Sharks 16 / 3
Hi man gbs and all others online, see you have your hands full with the games today gbs. Just managed to catch the last 15min of the Italy game, was quite surprised to see how close that one ended. Just a wee while before the main game of the weekedn kicks off, can’t wait gonna crank up the TV volume come anthem time!
Lions gaan die Tri reeks wen.
The 2 star Shark centers now replaced by Adi Jacobs and Swanepoel, I think….
Elgar Watts, who has now also come on for the Stormers kicks an easy penalty out to touch
Elgar Watts try….
Sharks 16 / 10
