The Sharks have named their 30-man squad for the 2011 Super Rugby tournament with the first match this coming weekend against the Cheetahs to be played at the Mr Price KINGS PARK,
As expected John Smit will captain the side with Stefan Terblanche deputising a strong squad that shows good depth in every position. With 16 pool matches for the teams to play depth is vital as rotation and resting of players will be the order of the day, and teams who lack depth will find the going tougher then before.
While luck may play a role in a team’s fortunes, astute player management also can negate certain problems and as a controllable, good planning is vital.
There are no real surpises with the three new signings Meyer Bosman, Conrad Hoffmann and Jacques-Louis Potgieter all named while prop Sabelo Nhlapo has been included to add further depth in the front row and Anton Bresler rewarded for his good pre-season form adding to the second row stocks.
There are a few players that can maybe count themselves unlucky but this is pretty much the squad as expected.

As from tomorrow we can expect some team announcements for the weekend’s Super Rugby….
It’s basically now 2 and a half days till kick-off on Friday morning…. drie slapies…. hehehe
@ grootblousmile:
And my decoder’s full of k@k.
Signal quality reads 0% on SS1 & 2 for some reason. Maybe the k@k weather has done something, or the wife with her constantly moving furniture could have damaged a connection.
I’ll have to find someone to come & check it before the weekend.
Super Rugby, Cricket, WTF am I to do? PVR will have to work overtime, or I’ll have to invest in the Drifta.
5@ Scrumdown:
Hehehe, I can fix that as well but I won’t…..
Sharkey….I know we have depth, but to suggest that God is in our team is going a bit far!!
