Prinsloo, the former CEO of SARU, has been seconded from the Union’s head office where he continued to be employed on special projects.

“Johan has a wealth of experience, both at provincial and national level, and when the request came from the Eagles for assistance, he was the perfect candidate to help out on a temporary basis,” said Jurie Roux, CEO of SARU.

“The organisation is faced by a number of financial and legal challenges and at this time needs a neutral but capable hand at the tiller to manage the administration until the landscape is normalised and a permanent CEO can be appointed.”

Prinsloo joined the Eagles at the beginning of the month to meet the union’s leadership and has now been confirmed in the temporary capacity.

He will be based in George until a permanent replacement can be found.

The union’s problems relate to the liquidation of the professional arm – Eagles (Pty) Ltd – and a number of legal claims between the union and Pty and from third party claimants.
