Wallabies inside back Matt Giteau will leave Australia following the World Cup after signing with French Top 14 club Toulon.
Giteau has signed an 18-month deal with Toulon, which keeps the door open for a return to Australia prior to the British and Irish Lions tour in 2013.
The 28-year-old, who will captain the Brumbies in their Super Rugby season opener against the Chiefs in Canberra on Saturday night, currently has 91 international caps.
He lost his starting position on the spring tour last year and will need to play in the majority of the Wallabies’ Test matches this season if he is to have any chance of reaching the 100-cap milestone.
