The nagging concern which faces all Stormers supporters is whether their team is ready for Super Rugby… with the Lions already one game into the Competition and brimming with confidence from a brilliant 2nd Half against the Bulls.
Who shall I pick on Bru… maybe the Lions is not a bad option…
… But the head suggests otherwise, the head says too many Springboks and quality in the Stormers.
Stormers a bit light at tight head, No 4, Januarie at scrummie, flyhalf, right wing and fullback… damn, that’s actually a lot and in very vital positions.
Maybe I should reconsider… Stormers not looking so flush, suddenly!
3 of the bench players could have rather started and strenghtened the run-on side considerably…De Kock Steenkamp in place of Elstadt, Duvenage in place of Meerkat, Peter Grant in place of Gary van As-is-af-wegen…
… and then there is still Juan de Jongh on the bench who might have been a better bet at inside center, with Jean reluctantly moved out to right wing in place of Poolman.
Strange chioces by Alistair….
