Supersport Preview
A consistent South Africa will have a clear edge over the unpredictable West Indies in Thursday’s Group B match at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.
One of the best teams never to have won a World Cup, South Africa’s aspirations could be gauged from the fact that they have packed three frontline spinners of different styles for the World Cup in the region where the tweakers thrive most.
At the same time, they have contemporary cricket’s deadliest pace pair in Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, one who thrives on pace while the other prefers bounce to torment the batsmen.
“There is always a place for genuine pace. I don’t think anybody likes to face people who bowl at 155 kph. If someone tells you they enjoy it, they are lying to you,” skipper Graeme Smith said.
They have a formidable line-up with Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla as the batting mainstays.
In contrast, twice champions West Indies lack the depth or variety of their opponents but in Chris Gayle, they have a player who can turn a game on its head on his day.
@ superBul:88 – Was at the tv watching every ball. Then came to my study to post and he goes……hahahahaha.
@ superBul:90 – I miss that too. Damn.
Now think we will have our tails up. Spinners are doing it.
Back to the tv. Catch up a bit later. Still no tv in my office here.
@ Puma:
Good bowling(position) change then 😆
@ superBul::lol:
tahir 2nd wicket
Saw Tahir taking that wicket. Spinners are doing it, told you Super 🙂
Major collapse now by WI
Imran Tahir to Sarwan, OUT
RR Sarwan lbw b Imran Tahir 2 (10b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00
@ sharky_forever:95 – Yip, his bowling well. Only his first over went for some, but he takes wickets that what counts. Pleased he is playing. Should of against India when they were here.
@ Puma: his = he is
@ superBul:Now missed that one.
Back to the tv.
Missed catch of own bowling by Tahir, he is really spinning the ball, so nice to see.
@ superBul:102 – Super, he should have played against India when they were here. Pleased he is in our team.
@ Puma:
This will keep you fit, how far is it to the TV? 22 meters? That will leave you on a healthy 30 runs N/O
@ sharky_forever:95 – Have to say the new Sharks Jersey looked really smart and slick on the team. Our best jersey yet.
Steyn wided after the batsman ducked. But he nearly bowled him so close was it. But rules are rules , so only a wry smile from Steyn.
@ Puma:
yup and i own a couple 😆
wish they would announce the sharks team
@ sharky_forever:107 – I still need to get one….LOL.
End of over 31 (11 runs) West Indies 140/4 (RR: 4.51)
@ sharky_forever:108 – Yeah, I am wanting to see if McLeod will start or Hoffmann.
@ superBul:100 – Super, They still have plenty wickets in hand and that is a good score for 31 overs. Two really good batsmen there. Need to take the other Bravo brother.
Fark, work always interferes with my sport…
Windies going well… at this rate and a bit better they will get close to 300.
@ superBul:110 – Super, see AB speaking afrikaans behind the stumps. You think Tahir learned some words while at the Titans? Otherwise he will be at a loss….hehehe.
Would be good if we can take 2 or 3 wickets relatively quickly from hereon in
the sharks team i think will play
