Well done to Ireland yesterday. Never saw the game, but saw the result later.
390@ Puma:
Hello,
Wonderful knocks by AB de Villiers, Hashim Amla & Duminy!
… and once again Kallis fails and Biff only gets 20….
351 by the Proteas is a huge total.
What the Proteas need now to get the nett run-rate up is to really bowl well and get Netherlands out very cheaply, but the pitch looks like a bit of a belter… let’s see.
@ grootblousmile:392 – Boeta I missed us batting. Thought this game was going to only start now. Only saw the last few overs.
Really can’t see Holland chase this down, they won’t will be just far to tough for them.
We will win this one easy.
Proteas behoort hierdie een maklik te wen … hulle choke net wanneer dit werklik saak maak.
394@ Puma:
I was fielding telephone calls from about 07:45 and did not see too much, specially not the part when AB really started klapping it as soon as he passed 100…. during the last batting powerplay.
Also going to be out to Pretoria, Centurion and Midrand from about half an hour from now… so won’t see much of the Netherlands innings.
Do me a favour and post the score every so often on this cricket thread, please.
I think SuperBees is somewhere in the bushes at the moment, otherwise we might have had a seperate Game Thread for this one.
395@ bdb:
Janee, ek kan ookie sien dat die Kaasies naby kan kom nie.
@ grootblousmile:396 – I am a bit busy boeta, but will be watching the crici on and off, so no problem will post the scores here.
398@ Puma:
Thanks man… at least you won’t be on the road like me, so posting the scores when you are able would be appreciated.
Proteas started bowling so well… first 10 balls, no runs… then a wide by Morkel and then he concedes a 4…. eishhhhh
@ grootblousmile:399 – Don’t envy you on those roads, hectic up there. At least I just scroll down to my office in the house……hahahahaha. Can’t beat working from home. Though have had to fly to Joburg almost every week for a day and these past weeks and probably for the next month or so. Traffic here and there is a huge difference. Hectic up there.
Holland batting now. 11/0 after 3 overs.
401@ Puma:
As you probably know by now, I also have Offices next to my house…. but I usually select 2 days a week to really run around, then I cramp the visits in one after the other in a logical circular route.
I try and travel way outside rush hour periods and then the roads are not so hectic.
Suppose one cannot avoid traveling, that is part and parcel of doing business. A lot of my traveling is to Pretoria and to Midrand because quite a few of my business interests outside rugby and computers revolves around Pretoria, whereas a lot of my Computer Suppliers are situated in Midrand… my regular clients are all over Gauteng mostly.
Oerwoudkat, don’t you also think Jacques Kallis has been very disapointing in the 2 games so far?
… as I say that, Jacques Kallis bowls his first ball and takes a wicket, catching the ball hit back at him…. hehehe
@ grootblousmile:403 – gbs, That is not so bad. I could handle just a few days on the road there, but everyday would be seriously hectic.
Ja, travel is always part of running your own business. I don’t mind the one day trip up to Joburg each week. Not a problem.
@ grootblousmile:405 – Missed that. Seriously need to get a tv in my office here. Actually going tomorrow to look. Being wanting to do that for a long time now.
@ grootblousmile:404 – He has been, but that is just temporary. Well I hope so, as we need him to be at his best for the big games coming up.
Morkel drops a absolute sitter 😯
Very pleased to see AB not keeping today. Think this is a far, far better balanced line up. Like Van Wyk and think he is a good keeper and he bats well too.
Read AB was having some problems with his back, which is a chronic back problem he has. So how the heck can they expect him to keep? Keeping puts far, far to much pressure on the back, also the knees. I would rather AB just concentrate on batting. He is a brilliant batsman and keeping could mess it up. Also think we need him in the field.
410@ Puma:
AB is far too valueble as an outstanding fielder (In the Jonty Rhodes mould) to waste behind the stumps as keeper.
Ah, another wicket down.
Damn, Morkel missing that previous sitter of a catch was bad!
@ grootblousmile:411 – Missed this wicket going. Back in my office.
Ja, but think if if the pressure was on Morkel would have taken it. They might not be taking this game that serious.
We win this we go to 2nd.
See AB is sitting 2nd on the top batsmen at this tourney. Strauss our Joburg Pom is sitting first, so far.
@ grootblousmile: Boeta, my feeling and Super’s is AB is totally wasted keeping. We will never get the best out of his batting if he keeps. Also we he has a chronic back problem. So he should NEVER keep. That puts far too much pressure on the back. Also we need him in the field. Agree he is in the Jonty mold in the field.
Good morning all, hey man PUMA long time no speak, how are you doing mate?
Holland 67/2 after 18 overs.
@ Bullscot:414 – Howzit Bullscot, I am well and you mate? How is your weather doing there? Must be a whole lot better.
Good to hear you’re doing well, going great this side. Weather a bit dull today but the last 3 days before have been lovely sunshine. You would have heard about all the snow we had earlier in the winter, really enjoyed that, although made things tough to do at times. Unfortunately the 2nd half of winter did not get as much snow.
@ Bullscot:417 – Snow can be great for awhile, then it is hectic.
Forgot where you said you were in Scotland. Where abouts are you?
@ Puma:
Yeah it can be tough on travelling, fortunately for me if it gets really bad I can still get around without a car for most things. Up in Aberdeen, have you been here Puma?
I see the man just out Barressi was born in South Africa, in fact I only counted 4 of the Dutch team actually born in Holland, a few more in SA, one in Namibia, Pakistan and Aus, and captain New Zealand. Glad to see Dumminy getting a bowl, think he could do well if given more of a chance especially in the one dayers, think he is under used. Sounds like a great knock from Dumminy today pity didn’t see it.
OK folks, I’m on my bicycle….. talk MUCH later…
Behave… hehehe
