    Morne Morkell 7 – 0 – 13 – 3

  • 32

    Morne is absolutely brilliant tonight.

  • 33

He rolls on and on with a great catch too

    40.3
Morkel to Khan, FOUR, dropped by Botha, his hand goes under the ball at second slip, and what’s more that’s four runs to India, a short ball form Morkel, jags into the batsman, who can only edge it towards the slips, Botha goes for the ball with one handbut misjudges it

    Morne Morkell 9 – 0 – 20 – 3

  • 36

Dale Steyn finnished bowling, what now

    Steyn 10 – 1 – 31 – 2

  • 37

    Morne Morkell 10 – 0 – 28 – 3

Look, we can say what we want to but the Proteas are one of the most creative teams in world cricket – who ever thought they’d lose batting first at Newlands? 😉

  • 39

    @ fender:
Morne and Steyn bowled very good. Parnell was bad. He forced Smith to bowl the two strikers, otherwise the would have been over much earlier.

Cricinfo sums it up like this.

Whew, that was a thriller. Some superb bowling from Steyn and Morkel, but that was overshadowed by the lethal hitting of Yusuf, who surely has confirmed a place in the World Cup starting XI, and the nerves of steel of Harbhajan. Two clean hits for six from Harbhajan steered India to victory, just as he had in the high-profile India v Pakistan match in the Aisa Cup last year.
South Africa were let down by their batting and the back-up bowling – Parnell is still short of confidence. The positives for SA was the confident debut of Faf du Plessis, though we didn’t get to see much of his leg spin.

Super, Parnell is suffering as a result of the Wanderers melt-down. Recovery time could be a good year or two. We shall wait.

I am not really a cricket follower, but keep 1/2 an eye on the game. I have never heard of either Faf DuPlesis nor Colin Ingram before the 1 dayers started.
I can see why Faf is included but not Ingram. He can’t play spin and the WC will be held on the sub continent.

ok, so this is the group that we’re in:
India, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and the Netherlands.
    now
we should beat Bangladesh, Ireland, Netherlands comfortably … but will we? Bangladesh had already beaten us before, and if we play like in the last 2 games, they might just do so again!!
Ireland, i think, have beaten Australia before … not sure how strong they’ll be this time though. same goes for Netherlands who played well at the last wc.
    so
that leaves India, England and West Indies IF we beat all of the abovementioned teams. think West Indies will be targeted as a Should Win. if we dont achieve, well then we’ll just be on our way home earlier than most top teams!!

    gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo blommetjies!! 😀 pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease??

  • 46

    hellooooooooooooooooooo!! anyone?
ok, before someone accuse me of being overly negative, lets give my point of view

out of the squad selected for the wc … only jacques kallis missed the past few matches because of injury, whilst robin petersen and tahir didnt get gametime thus far.
    ..
now india is missing the following batsmen through injury: Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir
    and
Praveen Kumar (bowler) … i think its fair to say that this is quite a depleted indian line-up, isnt it? ok, sachin only missed yesterday’s match, but still … thing is they will still get a lot of talent back, whilst we’ll only get kallis back
    and
they’ll be playing in conditions thats suits the likes of gambhir and sehwag like a glove
    whilst we
    judged on yesterday’s perfortmance
still have a lot of work ahead of us
    ..
    anyway f*ck all that
    and
    goooooooooooooooooooooo blommetjies!!

India seems to be reading the Proteas like a book at present and the Protea “Tail” is getting longer and longer by the day.

Where are the days we could virtually bat well down to No 10?

It has not been looking good in the last 2 ODI’s!

  • 52

Hmmmmm I hope it changes soon!!! At least Kallis is back to steady the ship somewhat….still dont know if it is enough though

  • 53

England in a bit of trouble 41/3 after 10 chasing down 231.

    wait, i know
he mustve spinned one of the deliviries he sent off in the last 4 matches,
