@ superBul:148 – Super, Agree it has to be compulsory now. None of this if you want it or if you don’t. Referrals must be part of the game now. Could have two out had it been.

  • 153

Just came back from a great seafoon lunch too. So was in a great mood to see the crici had started.

    Go Proteas.

  • 154

157 – gbs, Did you wish me?…hehehe. I have to go back and read the thread. Hardly every do that.

Anyhow thanks boeta. Getting on now in years. 55 today. But loving life. There was this say on the table cloth down at the restaurant..hehehe. Food without wine is like having no sunshine. Well something like that.

Now need the Proteas to play well that would make a nice birthday for me….hehehe.

    158@ Puma:
You’re one Grade 4 pupil older than me…. hehehe

Hope I don’t develop shoddy knees in 9 years time….

  • 160

Hope the wickets flow this afternoon still… still about 40 overs left if all goes to plan

  • 161

    @ Puma:
Australian spin legend Shane Warne has turned down the request of his fans to make a comeback in the national side, saying he is not fit enough to meet the rigorous demands of Test cricket.

Warne, who is in Perth for the third Ashes Test, feels that he is fit in general but needs more time and dedication to bowl the required long spells in a Test match.

‘I must say I was very flattered and surprised that a lot of you out there wanted me to make a comeback and play in the series. Of course I would love to be out there in the thick of it, but if there was to be a comeback I would need time to get match-fit,’ Warne wrote in his column for The Herald Sun.

‘My general fitness is as good as it has ever been – I have worked hard on that lately – but toiling away for long spells and backing up the next day takes time, practice, lots of physiotherapy and even more dedication.

‘I must admit it did cross my mind, but then I woke up in London, where it was snowing, and realised I was only dreaming.

‘So, I am sorry to disappoint you, but there will be no comeback in this Ashes series,’ he wrote.

Warne, however, insisted that he will continue to help the struggling Australian team.

‘I will continue to help the Aussie boys any way I can in their quest to reclaim the Ashes.

‘I think they will win this match because they know the conditions better. They also know the length to bowl, which will help them take 20 wickets.’

@ Blue Bird:91 – Would have missed your post BB, had to go back and read the thread. Hardly ever do that but gbs just had a go at me….hehehehe.

Thank you BB for those kind words. Having a great, great day. Went to the Oyster Box for lunch, had the best seafood down there. Now enjoying the crici too.

Your England doing very well against Oz.

@ superBul:162 – Shane, needs to be with the Aussie team in some kinda capacity Super. Watching him captain in the IPL (know it is only a 20/20 game) but he is a brilliant captain. He would coach well I think. They need him, but not to play. Think those days are gone but need him there for sure.

Just look how well Gary is coaching India.

    Overs 0-50
    2.1
Steyn to Sehwag, OUT, Steyn 1, Sehwag 0! Sehwag left the first two go in the first over. Can’t hold back this time. Gets one on a length, landing outside off and moving away a touch. He tries to go up and over with the upper cut. Hashim Amla was lurking at third man, not all the way back to the boundary. He was there specifically for this shot. Sehwag was not entirely to the pitch of it, and ended up scooping it in the air. Amla snaffles it. SA have struck a huge blow.
    V Sehwag c Amla b Steyn 0 (9m 3b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
    India 1/1 G Gambhir 1* (10b) DW Steyn 1.1-0-1-1
    12.6
Morkel to Gambhir, OUT, Morne has consumed Gambhir after working him over with an attacking spell. I daresay, he deserved this scalp. As is often the case with the bouncer-barrage, the wicket eventually comes to the sucker ball that is landed full. This one was on off stump, Gambhir was years late in coming forward. The body position for the drive was awry, the body momentum was going nowhere. The outside edge went straight into the lap of first slip.
    G Gambhir c Harris b Morkel 5 (62m 43b 0x4 0x6) SR: 11.62
    India 24/2 R Dravid 12* (34b 2×4) M Morkel 6-4-3-1
    14.4
Morkel to Dravid, OUT, Morne has struck a huge blow. Dravid has fallen to his first error of the day, and by the looks of it, he wasn’t very lucky with the bounce. Sharp inwards movement from Morne, lands on and around off stump and curls into Dravid who is caught on the stumps and struck in front of middle and leg as it stayed lower than he expected. Replays are awaited, but that looked plumb.
    R Dravid lbw b Morkel 14 (42b 2×4 0x6) SR: 33.33
    India 27/3 SR Tendulkar 1* (2b) M Morkel 6.4-4-4-2
