Finn to Hughes, OUT, ah, the change of length does the trick, having set up Hughes with the bouncer, Hughes is late getting forward to a fuller ball and it clips the outside edge and flew to third slip where Collingwood held on
PJ Hughes c Collingwood b Finn 12 (31b 1×4 0x6) SR: 38.70
@ superBul:
He he he
Kan dink.
Geniet dit ek gaan ook bietjie crici kyk, chat weer.
Hughes had done so well to resist the initial barrage but his wicket opens England to Ricky Ponting while the ball is just still newish. For Ponting, this innings could not be any bigger. Absolutely huge moment in this series.
Back to work , enjoy the cricket
i will pop in later
@ superBul:338 – Super, Lots of spam getting in. You know how to get the spam posts off?
Ja the spam is sneaking in. The snow has just started falling here in earnest again. Dogs had their run this morning in the frozen St Georges Park close to Mommy’s work, so are all cuddled up on their blanket in the lunge now. Its actually beautiful outside right now, blue sky on one side and the snow cloud above, with the flakes drifting down. Hmmmm I must go and give the robins some food! We have quite a few living in our hedge and in the bushes in the back garden now, they know they get food and water here.
Mommy has her Christmas party tonight, I think the dogs and I will walk down to my local boozer and have a couple of jars while everyone ooohs and aahhhhs over the dogs….they arent used to ridgebacks and great danes, especially such well behaved ones. The pub lady brings a bowl of water for the dogs every time and she has a nice pair and when she places the bowl of water on the floor…is always a sight worth looking at. It must be Friday again….my mind is drifting toward “Titties and Beer” then I think of Frank Zappa and then I think of Jinx….must have a drink to him tonight!!! for sure. a bien tot
Shane Watson came agonizingly close to a hundred, out LBW on 95
51.2
Finn to Smith, no run, Smith’s been given out caught at slip but he wants a review. And he survives! That was an odd one, it looked close for lbw but he seemed to be given out only after the catch was taken at slip. Smith immediately reviewed, knowing he hadn’t hit it, and the replays show clear space between bat and ball. And just for good measure, it was going over the top of the stumps as well.
There is very little chance for England to win this. Australia is using all the luck.
England lost it in the first session on the 2nd day.
And that is lunch.
56.6
Tremlett to Hussey, no run, Hussey’s given out lbw! Ah, but he has quickly asked for a review, knowing the bounce at the WACA so well. And Hussey is shown to be correct – even though he was back in his crease, he was struck well above the knee roll and the replays show that was going over the top. He survives!
Morning Super, yeah I think Australia has got this in the bag. I hope we crush India today,we must bat until tea and then unleash a fresh Steyn and Morkel.
@ Winston:
I will miss most of todays game, going to a rose farm to buy my wife some rose plants. Will be back later, emjoy the cricket.
I must say, i like the way Jacques Kallis is catching up with Ricky Ponting in the race to most test 100s.
Kallis now only one behind him . 39/38.
Sachin is off course way ahead at 49
Australia 268 & 269/5 (71.0 ov)
England 187
Australia lead by 350 runs with 5 wickets remaining
Some comments
Thanks Andrew. It is going Australia’s way, but in the back of their minds will be the 414 South Africa chased at the WACA two years ago. Don’t expect them to be happy just yet, they want a lead of 450+. And time for a change of pace, with Paul Collingwood having a trundle from the Prindiville Stand End.
Nobody will ever catch Sachin for many years to come but he can land up in second place because Ponting may not play test cricket after the Ashes. I just hope that we really hurt India today so they are mentally broken for the rest of the series.
Oz lead by 378 but are 8 wickets down. So have to see how their tail goes after tea. If they thinking about how we chased down 414 two years back they will be a little worried. Think England could chase down 378 if they bat smart, they have some really good batsmen.
Do want Oz to win this test cause it will make it more exciting and of course England wont take our number two spot.
BB hope you understand why I want Oz to win here… 😀
Hi Puma,if England get that last wicket soon they have a chance. Remember we got 400 against them a few years ago at Perth.
England need 391,its game on. If they can get a decent start they can win this game.
@ Winston:354 – Morning Winnie and Super.
I think England will chase down the 391 they have the batsmen and plenty enough time to do it. More than two days. Oz had better bowl very smart today. I would like Oz to win this test, would make it more interesting and of course England wont take our number two spot. Then for now looks like we should win this test against India at Centurion.
Cook gone. Think Oz in with a chance now.
In our test Amla batting well.
England are two down now,not looking too good for them.
Its such a pity that Amla got out,he was playing with such ease and looked good for another double hundred.
Hey Puma…got your message the other day.
Please get to 200 Kallis..
