The South African Rugby Union have revealed that the Springbok duo of Chiliboy Ralepelle and Bjorn Basson will face a anti-doping tribunal after their B samples also tested positive.
Tests conducted on the two players after the match between South Africa and Ireland in Dublin last month showed traces of the banned stimulant, methylhexaneamine.
Both players asked for their B samples to be tested and the results have confirmed the findings of the A samples.
SARU said the players would not contest the testing procedures and that, as a result, the investigation and hearing would be conducted in South Africa.
The date for the hearing and the composition of the tribunal would be announced once the investigation was completed in the new year.
Ralepelle and Basson face a penalty which ranges from a warning to a two-year ban.
Surely the Bokke management must step in here and take what is coming to them …
By the looks of it these players merely took what was handed out to them in blind trust. And why should’nt they, they were supposedly being managed by what should be one of thee most professional units in world rugby.
Will realy be sad to see them banned for 2 years for this.
I doubt that it will be as long as 2 years. A few months at the most.
Best case I think the Pillebulle won’t see S15 action.
So why chilli boy and nt victor matfield. its a conspiracy against these players.
