South Africa reasserted their control on the opening Test in Dubai with Johan Botha and Morne Morkel combining to run through Pakistan and earn their team a significant advantage which had been extended to 271 by the close. Botha took three wickets during the morning session in a teasing spell, then after lunch Morkel wrapped up the innings with the second new ball to finish with for 5 for 54 and leave South Africa well placed to push for victory
Highlights Day 2
Pakistan’s session. Despite being a bowler short, they have evened out this contest at the end of the morning session on the second day. Gul kicked things off with three wickets, including that of AB with a lovely delivery that jagged in, and the spinners then stepped up. Just 54 runs for South Africa this session and they’ve lost six wickets.
Umar Gul picked up his third wicket this morning to reduce South Africa to 329 for 6 on the second day of the first test against Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Last 3 wickets lost for 12 runs.

Glad to see Steyn got a wicket.we need gio at top form.
100 run lead would be nice.
Have you noticed how many top sportsman have tatoo’s these days,Mitchell Johnson,Dale Steyn,Sonny Bill Williams and the list goes on.
A warm welcome to a sunny Paarl. The coastal clash between the Cape Cobras and the Dolphins about to commence. At the crease opening the batting for the Cape Cobras we have Herschelle Gibbs and Andrew Puttick”D Kyle Abbott to open the bowling
@ Snoek:
That would be brilliant
Problem is Snoek is that we have struggled to get the tail out for the past few years.

i hate it , my parents would never accept it, they feel strong against it. Me too.
Good morning superbul thanks for keeping us updated with all the cricket you’re doing a super job there. Was good to see the Titans win on Friday night hope they can do the same today. Couldn’t follow the test yesterday what happened to cause such a batting collapse, thought we were cruising after day 1 to at least a 450 plus score, was it reckless batting or very good bowling or poor umpiring?
I’m not a particulary religious oke but I believe that the body is a temple and once you got one you are stuck with it for life. It just seems to be the fashion at the moment,I think its because celebrities have made it look glamorous,in the old days before my time only criminals and low class people had them.
Great wicket there by Morkel, lets wrap the bloody tail up cheaply for a change.
Ntini to Rudolph, OUT

Morkel to Abdur Rehman, OUT, another one bites the desert sand. Morne’s round the wicket angle is clearly not up Rehman’s alley and he perishes to a nothing prod outside off. That ball did nothing, except land on a length and hold a line. Sadly, Rehman did nothing either. Just hung his bat out there and guided it into the slips
Abdur Rehman c de Villiers b Morkel 1 (5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 20.00
Its good to see Much Higher Ntini giving back to the Warriors and not going overseas on a permanent basis, think he can do alot of good down there.

We are all wondering what happened there , i just think we were in a negative mindset and never attacked the bowling. That first hour was really slow batting. Kallis was not helping the new guys coming in either.
He just just never had the desire to tear an attack apart, its such a pity.
@ Winston:
He is running a great cricket academy down there. I saw something about it, his career is well settled. CSA gave him a post there.

Now to prove me wrong we’ll wrap the tail up quickly today. If thats what it takes I hope I’m always wrong with my predictions 🙂

Its great to see players stay involved and give back to the game. Maybe he’ll find another bowler like himself. Remember that chap Ngam,he bowled at the speed of light but then kept getting injured, was a huge waste of talent due to injuries.
We need to get this Gul out,he can hit the ball down the order.
Amla takes a blinder. Azhar Ali is gone. Pakistan are disintegrating in a hurry here. Short ball again from round the wicket, Azhar stays back and looks to defend, but he doesn’t quite ride the bounce enough this time. Ends up popping it in the air to Amla’s left at short leg. He sticks the left hand out and plucks it like a cherry. Or to be geographically accurate, should I say like a date?
Morkel is on fire. How many test wickets does he have now Super?
Titans are falling apart

Theron to du Plessis, OUT, staright and full, trying to wotk it to square
F du Plessis lbw b Theron 2 (5m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Morkel to Wahab Riaz, OUT, second time not to lucky, more pace, more bounce from Morne on this bouncer and that’s enough to take Wahab’s top edge as he swings wildly with another pull that could have gone anywhere in the ground if he’d middled it. He didn’t and it went into Bouch’s gloves.
Wahab Riaz c †Boucher b Morkel 5 (4b 1×4 0x6) SR: 125.00
