All Black Hooker, Keven Mealamu, has been cited for a headbutt on an England player and could be ruled out of the rest of New Zealand’s end of year tour.

An official press release states that in Saturday’s clash between England and the All Blacks Mealamu has been cited by the IRB appointed Citing Commissioner John West (Ireland) for striking with the head.

Mealamu’s actions are in contravention of Law 10.4a and he could miss the rest of the All Blacks Grand Slam tour.

South African lock Bakkies Botha was cited and then banned earlier this year for nine-weeks after he headbutted the New Zealand scrum-half Jimmy Cowan.

Mealamu does however have a much better track record than Botha so his record would be taken into account.

He’s not a dirty player. He’ll get a slap on the wrist with a 1 week ban at most.

Trying to emulate his hero?? This is what jungle justice gets these days, they should rewind the camera and see what the Englishman did to him first.
All those guys that have come back from injury for NZ are beginning to look average again…peaked too soon? Roll on the world cup.

    So he got 9 weeks.

His hearing is only later in the week, I believe… unless you can give us a surce for your 9 weeks…

    Giving you tomorrow’s results, today.

Talking about Pakistan…. their wicket keeper for today’s deciding ODI (currently being played) against the SA Proteas, disappeared this morning early after apparently receiving a threat, presumably from someone who wanted to have him fix the match… and he just never pitched for the match.

I say ban the man for life, you just don’t do that to your team and country.

That’s rough but what if he was really threatened?

Cricket’s gone balls up and I don’t watch anymore.

    Who replaced him? Crazy KAkmal?

Cricinfo says he and his family was threatened because he DIDN’T loose the 4th ODI.

At least he has the b@lls to defy the crooked bastards.

Sky reports that he has landed in the UK.

ok, have a look at this, and see what you think. What did you see?

Bakkies held the guy in the tackle, went down with him in the situation, and then used his own momentum to catapult himself into Cowen.

Mealamu picks the Moody up off the ground, by the scruff of the neck, puts him one side, and deliberately goes down to headbutt him. Moody was offside, but at this point the ref ha sen it and already awarded a penalty.

Cowen went on to play, Moody had to leave the field.

Based on each individual incident, Mealamu should get 9-10 weeks at least. But he wont, will he?
