Tendai ‘Beast” Mtawarira is set to stay at the Tank, Even though huge money was thrown his way it seems his heart won the battle.
Article thanks to RobDylan of Sharksworld.
Sharksworld managed to catch up with former Natal and Springbok centre Jeremy Thompson this evening. The subject of the discussion was, of course, Tendai Mtawarira, with whom Thompson shares a special relationship as the player’s mentor.
One gets the feeling that there is a lot of talk doing the rounds and while polite and friendly, I’m pretty sure Thompson must have fielded umpteen similar calls today. The fact is, when dealing with a player as hot as Beast is, there’s bound to be plenty of speculation about big-money transfers. While we in South Africa are getting our panties in a twist about a supposed move to the Lions, others are touting a move to Biarritz as a fete accompli – according to Thompson, just another made up story in the endless round of baseless rumours.
“Beast is a Shark,” Thompson tells me. “He is contracted to the Sharks, they have helped him become what he is and I don’t see him leaving here for a long time to come. That’s all I’m prepared to say on the matter”.
Good enough for me, Jeremy!
Some ous work too…Geez crazy week.
Now I’ve been headhunted, I said I was busy until I heard the package, so first i/view over skype and into Canary Wharf next week as only short lister.
@ Puma:
The weather is seriously k*k….snow in north london today. Not going to the england game but we are going to the Baa Baa’s game…same suspects, so should be a blast. I see there is a big thing at the Stoop for the Baa Baa’s too.
@ 4man:31 – Sounds good 4man.
Article thanks to RobDylon of Sharksworld.
I thought Bob Dylan was spelled with an “a”…Dyland Thomas too?
Cmon, we cant let our literary skills go to hell now!!!
Hi Sharky
All ok this side, I was setting up my first HUB today online, considering I have been married for 35 years, my learing curve is steep, also all these so called smart young ou’s didnt have to learn about Roneo machines, typesetting and suchlike first!!!
@ 4man:32 – Well then the forecast was right for the snow, wont be good for the game.
If it was me I too would go to the Baa Baas game. Would be far more relaxing. No pressure there I feel. Boks against England think we going to get a smack, hope not.
Okay I am out of here for now. Going to watch Boots for what it is worth these days. Catch up tomorrow.
Cheers Sharky/4man and everyone.
@ Puma:
It should be….buy Guiness shares before next week PaulD and JL1 will be there….also Willie van Zyl is putting in an appearance.
“fete accompli”

Ja…just pulling your leg….some others dont understand that. Hows things in Durban? I stayed with my mate in Queensburgh for 4 days when we were there in Oct…seemed ops normal to me. Met up with Kevin Woods at the Queensburgh shellhole, the man has some interesting stories….you should read his book.

@ sharky_forever:
Trouble is we are normally too polite to really rub it in…but it feels good, you’re right.
What restaurant, are you at the Waterfront?
If you are still here 4man i saw 2 white lions this week, i feel like a champ man.
@ 4man:
Nope at the Canal Walk Century City
@ superBul:
@ Super…Howzit Mate….I saw u told Puma, so I checked your pics and couldnt see anything recent….did you post them on the site?
@ 4man:
i will check again , must be in the lions album.
@ sharky_forever:
Ah ok I know it very well…when I was running Liberty Properties we took a serious look at buying that place….we were a bit concerned about the catchment area for the price they wanted….but I was pretty sure it would work and attract from Parow and right into the city
@ superBul:
OK I went again and looked, saw white lions in the lions album, but couldnt see dates and the date on the cover threw me.
@ 4man:
yeah canal walk is very busy
ok guys I’m out….enjoy the evening and the rugby ends next week, so we can relax. I am worried about the WC I can tell you….I’m in two minds…returning players, are they enough to make the difference….and BIG thing is the game plan.
ciao 4man have a good one mate
yeah and the game plan wont change because the coaching staff are to stupid and refuse to accept its not working
Excellent news about Beast, something weird happening, have to keep logging in in every time i go to a different page or post a comment.
Glad Beast is staying..
Damn, there is a lot of player movements for next year… am I imagining it or is it more than normal?
Well, I suppose the Lions figures are blowing it a bit out of proportion as they strive to get their team up to needed strenght.
hiyas Rudi im just as glad he is staying lol
@ grootblousmile:
But again a Sharks player turns down huge money offered by the Lions, shows you money is not everything
Also i think the bad reputation at the Lions is making players think twice
@ sharky_forever:56 – Howzit Sharky, Yeah that is very true, money is not everything. Must have your heart in it too. Think Beast enjoys being at the Sharks.
Have just found out that the England v Bok game is only on flipping Sky…..Can’t believe it!!
Murdock has a stranglehold…I am hopping mad.
@ Blue Bird:
Hi ya Blue Bird hope you are well, apart from hopping mad. Yes a pity but all England games have been on SKY, whereas Scotland Wales and Ireland games on BBC, guess SKY paid a lot more than BBC was willing to and so got the live coverage. You should be able to get highlights sometime later on BBC like they have been doing for the other England games.
You will just have to watch Scotland v Samoa on the Beeb also kicks off at 14.30, am looking forward to being there to watch it even if its going to be SO COLD.
