    @ Puma:
Thats great that you come here each year, have you been to any games at Murrayfield and will you be coming out to watch the Boks this year? 6 nations games at Murrayfield are just brilliant to go to such a good atmosphere, as you say most of the people here are so nice.
It can be a bit tough sometimes when its dull but in winter we get a lot more sunshine than many other parts of the UK and generally a good amount of snow which makes it worth it. Nothing better than crisp fresh snow and clear blue skies after the storms have cleared. Not keen on it being windy though but thats what you get living on the coast.

  • 98

One of 2 things will happen today…. either a convincing Bokke win or a convincing Wallabies win…

I do not expect too close a game.

Defence both sides should be better.

It seems as if the Lions have unearthed a good flyhalf in Jantjes so I was wondering if you guys think that Burton Francis jumped ship/was allowed to go too soon? Considering that Potgieter is on his way to the Sharks and Morne will be with the Boks he may have been playing a lot more in the near future for us than he will be at the Lions. But I suppose hindisght is a great thing he couldn’t have forseen all this happening when he left. What are your thoughts about Brummer was his performance against the Pumas down to not playing much Currie Cup lately and his scrumhalf partner, I thought from what I have read that he is a decent player or was the performance an indication of his ability?

    106@ Bullscot:
Burton Francis & Francois Brummer are both much of a muchness at the moment… neither are any good at the moment.

I’m not sorry that Burton left the Bulls, not at all.

This past week, both Brummer and Jacques-Louis Potgieter’s boots cost us big time.

I think the Sharks will win tonight, unfortunately.

    @ grootblousmile:
Oh dear so we may have some problems to solve at flyhalf then, are there any other out there that you think could make the step up and what about scrumhalf after du Preez and Hougaard? I think with all the Boks gone and the injuries we could have done with Adams and Wannenburg staying this season, maybe their experience would have helped all the youngsters. Sounds like Wannenburg had a good game for Ulster last night in their 1 point win against Ospreys.

107: ongelukkig waar, Bulle soek nog steeds ‘n opvolger vir Steyn. Ek sal weer vir Derick Hougaard gaan haal.

    @ bdb:

@ Bullscot:92 – BullScot, I may be over there in November, but now also have to travel to Australia in 5 or 6 weeks time. So still hoping to get to Scotland too.

No never been to Murrayfield but will do if I can get over when Boks are playing them this year.

Yeah, really enjoy the Scottish people. They are great and down to earth people. My best buddy that lives up the road from me here too is Scottish.

Love the West Coast there. Beautiful. Have you done any snow skiing there? I have done a few times. Not as good as in Europe but still nice. Only the weather and wind spoil it a bit, but if you have not try it.

    109@ Bullscot:
Both CJ Stander & Okkie Kruger as well as Van Velze are good young loosies and I think it is important for them to get top-notch experience now before next year’s Super 15.

The Bulls have a couple of good prospects in the junior ranks as far as flyhalves are concerned.

Scrummies are a different thing… i expected Ruan Snyman to do a bit better and DustBIN Jinka is just terrible…. but so too was Heini Adams here right at the end before he left.

Just hope Gary Botha and Deon Stegmann can return as soon as possible, we’re missing them big time.

Must say our studio commentators are boring. Except Ashwin I do enjoy him even if he speaks with a accent. He is enjoyable. The others are just far tooooooooooooooooooo boring. Then we have Stransky and Skinstadt. WOW!!!!!!!!! They are the two MOST boring commentators ever. Wish they had those two Aussies that are over here covering for Fox Sports there to commentate. They may be biased but damn they have a great sense of humour.

@ Snoek:97 – Snoek afternoon my sharks mate. Jeepers thought all the Shark supporters had left me on my own here……hehehe.

You get half a wish… Rod Kafer now talking to Stransky….

Short fella… that other Ozzie commentator with the grey hair… whatshisname…. uses make-up, saw that myself last week…

Gbs, Going back to the tv now. NO tv in my study just yet, but have been looking to get one in here.

    Back in a bit.

    @ Puma:
Sounds like you get around quite a lot mate, your trip to Aus sounds good. It will be great if you could get to watch the Boks in November as I said Murrayfield is real good place to watch a game good atmosphere before and after in the streets of Edinburgh. The country is so diverse and what I like are the many very quiet and remote places you can get to. Haven’t being skiing yet cos I don’t know how to, one of those many things on my to do list. It can be a great day out and this last winter was one of the best the slopes had for a while but yes those in the know say Europe is better with drier powder, over here it can tend to be more icy tricky stuff.
