Barloworld Toyota Pumas vs Sharks – 19:10 SA Time, 10 September:
The Pumas will have to be at their absolute best to give this one a full go, they will have to show character like against the Blue Bulls 2 weeks ago at Mbombela because they face the frontrunners on the Log, who have just come off a humbling cut-back-down-to-size loss against those same Bulls.
The 1st match between these 2 Unions this year was a Sharks rout on the Pumas.
The Sharks will be angry, they will want to take their last week loss out on the Pumas and fix a lot of what went wrong in the 2nd half last week.
My prediction is simple, the Pumas will experience the wrath of the Sharks…. Sharks by 25.

Xerox Lions vs GWK Griquas – 15:00 SA Time, 11 September:
Can the Lions string a few together now, after beating the Cheetahs and WP so well?
Under John Mitchell the temptation is to say yes, undoubtably so at home against the Griquas!
The key here for me is that the Lions are now cleverly opting for consistence in selection, with players who are now really starting to believe that they can beat anybody.
The Griquas on the other hand are once again looking like falling by the wayside in the 2nd part of the Currie Cup and one important selection or rather exclusion from selection worries me – that of Sarel Pretorius.
I predict a Lions win….. Lions by 15 PLUS.

Vodacom Western Province vs Platinum Leopards – 17:00 SA Time, 11 September:
WP is hurting people, they’ve been slapped around for 3 weeks in a row now and they will be seeking a direction to avenge this pain.
The Leopards have showed moments is heart and glimpses of dogged determination this season and have an astute coach with a wonderful vision for his team but there is one important hamper to success and that is enough quality personnel!
WP on the other hand have a few Springboks back, who will want to prove that they are better than those who did duty in their absense. A couple of strange decision in the run-on side, most notably at fullback and wing, but this team should do the trick.
I predict an absolute rout for WP, if not then WP have some worries to face…. WP by 30 PLUS.

Vodacom Free State Cheetahs vs Vodacom Blue Bulls – 17:05 SA Time, 11 September:
This is undoubtably the match of the week, with both rivals and last season’s finalists lying on the same amount of Log points, in No 3 and 4 position respectively.
The Cheetahs are at home, but without their captain Juan Smith but having come off a wonderful win against WP 2 weeks ago and a bit of an unflattering win last week against Griquas.
The Blue Bulls welcomes back a few Bokke but still have to do without captain Gary Botha and that little fetching marvel, Deon Stegmann. In addition they are without Dewald Potgieter due to injury and probably more importantly without Wynand Olivier who’s been forced out due to the Blanket Ban on contracted Springboks.
This is going to be hard and brutal and to predict a winner here is like doing a coin-flip, it can go either way.
I predict a slight advantage to the home side…. Cheetahs by 3.

SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARKS
Hmm, referee appointments seem somewhat odd.
I think you’ve got it correct re the Bulls game. It could be brutal and tight.
Ok folks, talk later… have to be on my bicycle….
Gbs,
Think Sharks should win but not sure if it will be by that much.
Just hope we win it that is enough for me. Maybe with a bonus that would be better, but a win would be just fine.
SHARKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Now that is a seriously good comment!!
‘n paar seriously goeie spanne op die ooomblik in die CC.
TERLOOPS, kan enige iemand vir my se wat goster by WP se captains run gebeur het? Blykbaar sou Jantjies na 15 skyf en Engelbracht op vleul opdraf as Hoffman nie die oefening kon deuraak nie….
