Bath Rugby have confirmed that Butch James has undergone surgery to stabilise his right shoulder, and is expected to be back in November.
James has been in South Africa playing TriNations rugby for the Springboks who finished last in this year’s tournament.
“It is always frustrating to lose a player of Butch’s influence, but we will make sure he receives the best care and attention to get him back with the squad as and when he’s ready.” said Bath Head Coach Steve Meehan.
The Springboks look set to tour Europe at the end of the year with a second string team and James may have been asked to join the Boks but it is now unlikely that he will be fit in time.
Altyd geweet Butch is ‘n vuilgat…. hehehehe
Ja old Butch…his old age will certainly bring back memories of rugby, especially on the cold damp days.
