The Western Force have insisted that Head Coach John Mitchell will be staying with them for the 2011 Super 15 season and will not be moving to the Lions in South Africa.
There have beenĀ reports in the South African media stating that the Golden Lions Rugby Union had started negotiations to secure Mitchell for their 2011 Super rugby season
Rugby WA CEO Vern Reid said,”I have spoken to John Mitchell in Johannesburg and he has advised me that no formal negotiations have taken place with the Lions in regards to their head coaching position for the 2011 Super rugby season.
“This has also been confirmed by John’s management, The Fordham Company.”
“At this point we have not had contact with the Lions or their President about their intentions.”
Mitchell is currently undertaking a consultancy position at the Lions during their Currie Cup campaign and is contracted to the Western Force until the end of the 2011 season.
The Lions must stay away from him, he is under contract, and no one is allowed to speak to him…..
@ Snoek:
Lesson learned hey š
This man was harshly treated when AB coach, but for the semi in 03 he had just as outstanding a record as GH, one doesnt build a team capable of beating both SA and Aus by 50 points on consecutive weekends without knowing their craft… I believe his 03 team DID peak to early, and the loss of Tana hurt them big time in that semi…
