Wallabies (17) 30 / Springboks (3) 13 (Final Score)
The Wallabies hosted the Springboks in Brisbane, Australia at 12:00 SA Time. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSpor 1 on DSTV in SA.
The Wallabies, like feared, had a plethera of possession and break-down ball to work with in the 1st half, ran intelligently and recycled the ball well.
This earned them penalty after penalty and they built up a hefty lead as a result from kicks at goal.
In the 2nd half, when Dewald Potgieter replaced Ryan Kankowski, things evened up a bit, enabling the Springboks to score 2 tries but the Wallabies fought and defended well to maintain a lead and run out winners by a 17-point margin.
The final score was Wallabies 30 / 13.

The difference is Genia. His passing is unbelievable – what a halfback he is!!!
Okay, that bottle of wine is open, and no glass needed, sommer drinking out of the bottle.
@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:149 – OldG, Your Wallabies are looking by far the better side and better coached too.
149@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:
Hello Oldie… told you on mail that Ozzies would have a plethera of possession, did’nt I!
@ grootblousmile:
Indeed, you did mate, you’re the oracle!!!
This is so very bloody frustrating!

Well done to the Wallabies, they are playing better rugby at the moment, don’t think we can come back
@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney 151 – OldG, He sure is a great scrumhalf Genia. So is Fourie du Preez, we miss him HUGE. Also Juan and Bakkies is missed pity he can’t keep the discipline. I would say we miss Frans Steyn at FB BIG TIME. Why the coach wont select him is crazy. Play our best players always.
the problem is poor defence
danie has missed a dozen or so takles
habana has been useless bring on hougaard
take off spies and bring on potgieter
@ Puma:
G’day Puma, how is life in Umhlanga? You’re right, the boks aren’t playing as well as they can; Habana just isn’t on the boil lately and John Smit looks very overweight to me. Nonetheless, still 40 mins to go, never under estimate a bok team!!!!!!!!
kicking our pocession away….again!!!
@ Snoek:152 – Snoek…..hehehehe. Go for it. Down em sorrows. Damn our Boks looking like has beens. How can we go from last year to this rubbish play.
Must say we miss FdP, Juan, Bakkies and FRANS STEYN. What a difference some players make.
So mad at Bakkies for not keeping the discipline. Has let the team down. We need him. Most of all need FdP and Frans Steyn at FB. Zane is good for Bulls but really not a great FB for the Boks.
Mall, and the ball in the air. Should have been a turnover.
Ozzie 20 / 3
Ozzies are running us ragged
@ Old Griquas 14 in Sydney:160 – OldG, well one thing is great and that is Umhlanga…..hahaha. Loving it here.
Habs too not looking the same player as last year. I would play Mvovo in the home games. Give these players a fright and let them fight for their places back.
Wallabies looking really good today.
Back to the tv. Catch up later OldG.
@ grootblousmile:164 – Yip as everyone thought. We going to get a huge, huge klap here.
Yellow for BJ Botha…. fokkit!
Dit is nou ‘n klomp kak.
Ozzie 23 / 3 as O’Connor slots a penalty
@ sharky_forever:159 – Agree Sharky, Bring on Potties. Our defence is like a sieve they running through us. Habs should be replaced now by Hougaard. I would like Mvovo to get a chance once the Boks are home.
I was wayyyy to over optimistic for this game. What an embarrassment. This is pathetic
se wat julle wil ma die bok span is kaksleg van 1tot 15 enigste wapen is die bom ….en dit werk nie.steyn kry nie strafskoppe pale toe nie want da is nie komp op die grond nie,….nee wat die span is swak afgerig
Flag out against Surfer Dude… Cooper
Yellow against Cooper… Tip-tackle
Come on Bokke… do a driving maul from the lineout.
Morné Steyn replaced by Butch… fok tog!
Juan de Jongh replaces Wynand.
Think Cooper will get cited for that and maybe a week or two ban like Fourie will too.
If no Cooper next week – Advantage All Blacks. Pity wanted to see a full strength game between Wallabies and Abs.
Dewald on for Kanko…. and is immediately effective
Can’t watch much more of this….
Distribution from James better than Steyn, immediately.
