Wallabies (17) 30 / Springboks (3) 13 (Final Score)
The Wallabies hosted the Springboks in Brisbane, Australia at 12:00 SA Time. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSpor 1 on DSTV in SA.
The Wallabies, like feared, had a plethera of possession and break-down ball to work with in the 1st half, ran intelligently and recycled the ball well.
This earned them penalty after penalty and they built up a hefty lead as a result from kicks at goal.
In the 2nd half, when Dewald Potgieter replaced Ryan Kankowski, things evened up a bit, enabling the Springboks to score 2 tries but the Wallabies fought and defended well to maintain a lead and run out winners by a 17-point margin.
The final score was Wallabies 30 / 13.

puma @ 188
agree
he shouldve passed!!
@ rugbybal:114 – rugbybal, have to agree Habs just not the same player or maybe just off form. Not sure but he sure is not playing like he used did before.
Yet another penalty Ozzie…
Ozzie 12 / 3
@ Ashley:121 – For sure Ash, Aplon would have been away for a try there. Missed a great chance to score there.
12 – 3
Two scores behind.
@ grootblousmile:124 – Boks need to be more disciplined. Just not good enough giving away all these penalties.
Our biggest problem in this game is possession, or rather lack thereof.
Aussie running the ball well. And they clean their rucks well. Deserved lead.
Come on bokke that’s how you should play
hoekom skop hulle nie pale toe nie?
Hell, Ozzie should have gotten a yellow… cynical and in the Red zone….
Penalty only!
Proffesional foul from a offside position in the red zone.
Eishhhhhhhhhhh
If the ref were consistent that should have been a penalty, kanko was on his feet and the Aus player held onto the ball. Stuff them
Try Mitchell
We are playing like shit.
@ Snoek:
ja dis ook waar
Ozzie 17 / 3
Lemoenetyd
Pathetic!!!
We need Dewald to come on, we need to compete more on the ground. This is not looking good at all.
@ Snoek:Agree. We are playing rubbish once again. No gameplan zip nothing.
Also when we had them on their line there and got the penalty should have taken the 3 points.
Think we going to get a big hiding here today.
Don’t see many supporters going to Soccer City to see this rubbish. It is all sold out but many wont turn up.
We need to get Dewald Potgieter on to be more effective at the breakdowns and ground-ball
@ grootblousmile:
If it were the Bulls I wouldn’t be worried. But I don’t think the Boks can come back from this deficit.
@ Snoek:141 – Snoek I said so during the week. Kano at 8 Burger at 7 and Potties at 6. How we miss a true fetcher. Stegmann should play in our home games.
Hi guys, what a time to score? I know its early but that try has clinched the game I reckon.
The Aussies are overpowering us upfront. And our descision making with ball is not good.
@ Puma: Maybe even Botes should play if Brussow is not ready. Sharks beat the Reds side. Maybe PdV should look at that game and see how we done it. Damn the Boks are rubbish here.
Hey, apart from lots of errors from both sides, this isn’t such a bad game. Boks are indeed out of form and the Wallas will find 101 different ways to butcher a try. The outcome could go either way. Goes to show what an exceptional side the ABs are at present.
@ fender:146 – Fender for sure. That is it over for us. When we did have two chances we messed up. If Zane passed to Aplon that was a cert for a try. He went inside and tried to go it alone and messed that chance. Then when we had them on their line why take the scrum? Take the points.
