The Sharks have selected a team to play the Griquas this coming Saturday in Kimberly that was pretty much expected” this taking into account injuries etc”

With Stefan Terblanche taking over the captaincy it was no surprise seeing him at 13 as young Patrick Lambie will retain the 15 jersey after having shown prolific form this season.

It surely has to be in the front row where the Sharks will be tested? with the likes of , Beast,Smit,Duplessis x2, out as well as the departure of  Carstens the Sharks are pretty thin come front row senior players.

The team is as follows:

15. Patrick Lambie 14. Louis Ludik 13. Stefan Terblanche (capt) 12. Riaan Swanepoel 11. Lwazi Mvovo 10. Steve Meyer 9. Rory Kockott 8. Keegan Daniel 7. Michael Rhodes 6. Jacques Botes 5. Alistair Hargreaves 4. Steven Sykes 3. Wiehahn Herbst 2. Craig Burden 1. Patric Cilliers

Substitutes: 16. Kyle Cooper 17. Eugene van Staden 18. Anton Bresler 19. Skholiwe Ndlovu 20. Charl McLeod 21. Monty Dumond 22. Andries Strauss

this team has got lots of potential also considering all the injuries

my big concern is scrum power

    @ sharky_forever:
Are Alberts and Deyzel injured sharky? My initial thoughts on the Currie Cup were that the Sharks would probably be competing with Cheetahs for top spot with all the Boks away for Bulls and WP but not so sure now looking at that Shark pack lots of unknowns for me there. Backline not looking too shabby for this level depending on how Meyer gets on and whether Ludik can return to his pre-injury form.

@ sharky_forever: the only article i can find on Steve meyer on the Sharks site is that he has retired….what the hang is going on there now?

4man the real reason for him quitting begining of the year is still a mystery

he however made himself available about 2 months ago, so who knows , he played in the warm up matches last week and the week before and did well

    @ sharky_forever:
Many say it is a similar mystery as Pierre Spies-es mystery.

Anyway i am glad the Sharks gave Lambie the 15 jersey. Dont know if your captain will last though.

@ superBul:Oh ye of little faith….the Boks could still regret not taking him into the set up…he will more than last.

  • 10

super he will last purely he is south africa’s fittest rugby player

  • 15

    @ 4man:
Griquas, they always start fast. And they had a good Vodacom Cup

  • 16

Where is Pietman? Have i missed something?

  • 17

super mate i do as long as the front row get parrity

they are not a bad or very weak front row so they should

but like we know kimberly has klapped many a bulls team and dont mean that rudely

its not a nice place to go play

    16@ superBul:
Spoke to Pietman this morning, he has largely been without computers… he sent his to his son to fix properly (son is an IT oke)…. they are fixed now apparently but still in Cape Town somewhere… Piet says he will collect them shortly.

Other news about Pieta is that he’s been busy like hell and running 2 businesses with Pampoen out the country.

In addition the man was quite ill with the flu and brochitus or something.
