Dear Mr Administrator and fellow readers
After reading (frequently) and commenting (rarely) on Rugby-talk, I felt tasked to submit an article again after the last thrashing we got from the AB’s and the reaction to it.

A blog site is supposed have readers and participants from both sided of the coin, which means your side and my side. Or his side and her side, or their side and our side, or the amateurs’ side and the professional’s side, and lastly the opposition’s side and the supporter’s side. If we do not have that, support it, embrace it and challenge those trying to meddle with it, this blog site will also loose support.

What is nice about this site is that every opinion is liked, challenged fairly, we take the piss at each other, we even open articles demanding that you take the piss. But it also states quite clearly in those instances that we should refrain from making certain insults on articles where the idea is to have normal arguments to and fro on the topic. What I have seen the past 24 hours from well known member on this site has prompted me to go take an hour break from the PC to get my emotions in order, otherwise I would have added to the injury caused and started insulting users.

Ok, my side of the coin first since I am writing the article. I advocated another loss this weekend due to mainly two issues: firstly the top referees in the world are from the southern hemisphere (SH) and should be the only referees allowed to blow the whistle during the 3N. That means the referees blowing during the S14 should be on duty. Secondly the Boks are playing a stupid game plan not suiting the current rules, they are playing with 5 men on the park who should either not be there or play in different positions. Enough said about that, I think most of us agree on these two points. The three incidents which imho changed the game on Saturday were discussed, argued, disagreed with, agreed with, hell even more than after the first game! For the record I am talking about the bizarre yellow card, the bizarre non-yellow cards and the high tackle on Zane. My opinion on these three is in line with most bloggers on the site.

Guess what my point is? It is my opinion only, and if I differ from you on my opinion, please accept that we differ. If you differ from me and want to make a stronger point about differing, I actually appreciate the challenge and will continue looking at your opinion, comparing it with mine. But fellow readers, if you start being sexist towards me, act like a chauvinist towards me, personally insult me because you differ from me, shame on you. I would probably ignore you because I would in our difference on opinion, try and maintain the moral high ground. Oh and you should consider two actions then:

One, apologize for blowing off steam and stepping across an inexcusable line, or two, consider yourself part of the lesser quality bloggers from a site where most of us comes from…..and go back there please, because there they keep on insulting each other, making sexist remarks, act like chauvinists.

If we want to keep bloggers from other nations on this site, we absolutely have to accept the fact that it is only an opinion from another blogger which differs, not fact. And if you as the reader feel you want to deck someone due to difference on opinion, mmm, shame on you again mate. Their opinions are valued due to the other side of the coin they bring. If you cannot embrace that fact, follow step two please.

Back to rugby, come the next number of weeks in the 3N Piet Snor has got very little else to do but:

One, make the right positional choices. Two, fire both his backline and forwards coach. Three, motivate his senior players again. Four, play the Bulls game plan in the S14 final, because regardless of which provincial team I support, THAT game plan won the S14.

Do you think Piet Snor will do it? I reckon if he can get two out of the four done, we have a chance, else sorry guys, a whole year of international rugby has been lost and next year will probably be too late for retaining the RWC.

ehem rassie het die cc in 2005 op loftud teen n volsterkte bulls span gewen so ook was die bulls in 2006 ook feitlik op volsterkte

Commiserations Saffas on the last 2 matches. But to be fair referee decisions or not the ABs were the better team.

I continue to marvel at how big, rawboned, athletic & mobile the ABs are. Where do they find these fellas? It must be a genetic trait. While on the subject of genetics I’m convinced that NH teams are genetically pre-disposed to bulky, less athletic & less mobile bodies. Thus they are no longer competitive. Methinks the Boks are going that way too. They were run off their feet & few appear to have been eating too many porky pies & whatever it is you Saffas indulge within the Republic.

As many have suggested here there is a big question of whether some current Bok players can survive the rigors of another RWC campaign. Better some preventative actions be taken on the selection front now otherwise there will be much wailing & knashing(?) of teeth October 2011. 🙁

    Welcome back.

The Abs look great this year, last year we were with the same team. But they always look great before a WC. So what next?

Hi all. To tell you the truth I enjoy a bit of difference of opinion between the guys and gals or it becomes boring when everyone agrees with one another.. I have seldom if ever seen arguing get out of hand on this site, the difference in opinion just shows how passionate we are about this amazing game called rugby..

We are missing FdP,Juan and Brussouw the most out of our injured players.. I also thing we miss Frans terribly at the back but I’ll get shot down by the Bulls supporters here..

  • 41

    Hi folks,
JimT, I haven’t seen you around for a while. Must say that your return coincides with the ABs doing well. Probably, just coincidence, hey? 😉

Gbs, lyk my jy gan jou salaris verdien vnaand, broer. En for what its worth, jy het my support in hierie saak mettie behandeling van RP.

Hi GBS & Superbul. I’ve been around, reading RT of course. Just in a decompression mode after 9 months of coaching (my high school team). It’s been a great season, excuse me if I brag (a well known female blogger here accuses me of boasting) but our team won this season the U-19 & U-20 state championships, the USA South regional championship, we qualified for the nationals, competed & won 1 out of 3 games. So now we are ranked 7th in the nation at U-19. I’m really proud of our young men, they did good. Now I can sit back, relax & watch the 3N for another 2 months. 🙂

  • 43

Jim T,its not arrogance if you can back it up 🙂

  • 44

    @ Winston:
I would agree with that, not sure about Frans though. Incidentally Morne Steyn offers no offensive threat & stymies your centers, who are good. I would keep him on the team for his kicking but play him at fullback. What do you think?

go and have a look at hennie daniller’s form in the s14 also in last 2 cc games he is superb at the moment

  • 46

    @ JimT:
frans needs fdp like ritchie needs a blind ref both are no good without the other 😉

  • 47

    @ JimT:
Jim why so fast to write of Morne or for that matter the other Boks. Morne scored great tries lately and his backs scored good tries. He plays under a certain backline wrecker now.

  • 48

    @ fender:
Ha, ha a good one. You know I’m in love with the ABs of course, my favourite team since most of you guys were born. BUt I kept quite earlier in the season & the reason why? See my comments earlier. I always like to see the Boks play, have great respect for them. Just not convinced they are playing to their potential. I thought that was true in the last RWC. It’s frustrating.:-(

  • 49

    44@ JimT:
Morné Steyn has been good on the offensive for the Bulls this season, outstanding in fact…. maybe it’s rather a scrummie which inhibits him, with Fourie du Preez out due to surgery.

Congrats on your team, old wonky prop!

  • 50

Jim.bad bad idea, you have the Dick Muir logic of playing guys out of position and its usually a failure.. I think Morne has struggle but he is still the best No. 10 in the country by far,you dont become a bad player over night. I dont believe Butch should even be in the squad and I’m a Sharks supporter. Myself and Puma are the biggest Frans supporters on this site.. He brings something to our side that nobody else in the world can do,we need him back desperately, people are realising this year how much we miss him..

    41@ fender:
Ek sal laat die fokkers vir my drank koop vir al die moeite wat hulle my gee, bliksem….. hehehe

  • 52

    @ superBul:
Morne frustrates me. Either he is under orders to play that way or he simply is not an attacking player. Not sure which, but he blunts the offensive threat of the Boks & has become very predictable. Does the fault lie with the player or the coaches? You tell me.

  • 53

flokken brtein dood morney needs fdp like ritcie needs a blind ref

  • 54

Smallies,he is a solid player but I am of the opinion that he is too slow and does not offer enough on attack to be an international 15.

  • 55

    50@ Winston:
I’ll send you a Fransie Steyn pin-up for your toilet door, so you won’t miss him…. hehehe

  • 56

Morne has shown he can be very good on attack,so my gut feel says its poor coaching because he was deadly in the Super 14.

  • 57

    @ Winston:
I suppose you’re right. We have won the state title 2 years in a row, so we must be doing something right.

  • 58

Gbs,if you cant see yet how much we are missing him in the Bok side then you have your blue blinkers on. And dont come and say Zane has been our best back, its not much of an achievement considering how farking crap our backline play has been..

  • 59

    @ grootblousmile:
If that’s the case, I missed most of the S14, then the blame lies with the coaches. He has had good ball from his scrummie at times & does nothing with it. You can predict what he will do, hoof the ball down field. Makes life a lot easier for the opposing loose forwards.

  • 60

JimT, good on you mate! And your quite plausible reason for staying out of sight has been noted. Congrats!
