Poor Mcilroy lost it all in the second round, that 80 killed him.
Here’s the scorecard from Mossel Bay Golf Club where I recorded my lowest ever round of 57 on 12th December 2002.
whoooow that is low scoring
@ superBul: 2 – That is brilliant Super. Having a laugh at these commentators. They had never even heard of Oosthuizen on Thursday now must have done some research. Saying he is from Mossel Bay and shot his best round there of 57 and he is a huge rugby fan and supports the Stormers.
Have to admit I never knew of him either until this Open. Now he will be a huge name.
Goooooooooooooooo Oosthuizen.. 😀
@ superBul: Also they pronounce Mossel Bay wrong….hehehe.
I better steal the remote from my wife , i am missing something historic.
Ernie must have mixed feelings, he fell out by missing the cutt but this youngster was in his Golf Academy
This must have been the sweetest bridge Oosthuisen ever crossed, leading the Open by 7
The first words to come out of Oosthuizen’s mouth at the presentation speech was to wish former South African president Nelson Mandela a very happy 92nd birthday.
Well done L. Oosthuizen. That was a brilliant win. So proud to be a South African right now. What a place to win a major. The Open and at St. Andrews. Aswsome. Done us very proud.
Damn had a lump in my throat when he won. Fantastic guy too, so humble.
@ Puma: typo 🙄 awesome
@ superBul:8 – Yip, That so great to hear him say that. What a humble down to earth oke. Hope he wins a few more.
Was great to see our flag flying high there at St. Andrews. Just wonderful. Once again well done Mr. Oosthuizen not only did you make your family and caddy proud, you made the whole of SA proud.
They said during the world cup our flag was the most seen flag in the world. Well there it was again today flying high at St. Andrews.
Proud Saffa today I am.

oops that came out twice
puma my brudda, Sharks played great yesterday ,
@ sharky_forever:Howzit Sharky, I watch only the Open every year. Also the Nedbank Challenge. Sometimes the Masters. Other than that not much else but love watching the Open. So proud of Oosthuizen. I never heard of him but then that is cause I don’t follow golf as much as you do.
Great win there by him.
again it shows how much earnie has put back into golf SA
Louis was in the EE foundation for 3 years
ernie
Great to see Charl Scwartzel joining in with the celebrations. They were the best group of youngsters in my eyes.
What a great sport moment.
Glad R-T could be there , sharing this with whoever reads our site.
@ sharky_forever:16 – We did too Sharky. Our Sharks looked really good yesterday. Lambie was great againa and playing out of position. Has BMT for sure. Mvovo was brilliant and so too Burden.
i love golf
super most of the south africans that qualified was there
another pro golfer Hennie Otto was standing next to Charl
puma remember what i told you about lambie last year when i first saw him??
but it was a great team effort puma , even our front row creamed the bulls front row , i must admit i even told rudi we would lose upfront
@ sharky_forever:
18 – Yip, He can thank Ernie for sure. Tell you what after winning this tourney his life will change for sure. Biggest tourney to win in golf and especially at St. Andrews. Wow!!!! He will be waking up tomorrow feeling on top of the world. Don’t think it has sunk in yet.
@ superBul:
20 – Super, Yes I thought it was nice that Scwartzel was there go cheer him at the end. Plenty saffas in the stands there too cheering for him. Great to see that.
Thanks for putting up this thread.
also good to see JPP back , think the boks need him
ernie and gary phoned louis before his round started
i also saw one or 2 of the other south african pro’s as the camera moved around
@ sharky_forever:24 – Sharky our backline now looking sharp, compare that to the S14? Yip, agree our front row was very good. Burden looks like a loosie…..hehe, or a inside centre or outside centre. He has such speed for a Hooker. I was impressed with his play yesterday. Lambie will be great anywhere in the backline. He has that special gift. A true talent. So is Mvovo playing brilliant. Remember how late Plum put in Mvovo in the team when in the S14? Think Mvovo has got that position now.
Shark friends, your team deserved the win. Must say i like a few of the old loyal Shark players.
The ones you grow are better than your buys 😆
Terblance came from where? But he is now a full blood Natal citizen.
@ sharky_forever:26 – Sharky for sure, JdV was rubbish on the wing. How he can just walk back into the side is nonsense. Should have played his way back in. Anyhow see JPP back there once the Boks are back. Mvovo will be knocking on doors too with that kinda play from yesterday.
