Wales (16) 31 / Springboks (14) 34 (Final Score)
Wales hsted the Springboks at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff at 15:30 SA Time. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1 on DSTV in SA.
Wales started the match fast, racing into an early lead and after an intercept try by James Hook from a wayward John Smit pass, went into a 16 / 3 lead. The Springboks fought back and some of the new combinations started to gel and by halftime the score was Wales 16 / Bokke 14.
After halftime the Springboks continues their mid match dominance, adding another converted try and grabbing the lead, now leading by 21 / 16. It was Wales next to score from a penalty, drawing the SA lead back to only 2 points.
Frans Steyn then slotted a long penalty from near halfway, causing the Springboks to lead by 24 / 19. Next it was the try by Juan de Jongh, which carved the Welsch fedence to ribbons, for the Bokke to sail into a lead of 31 / 19.
The Welsch were not finished though and capitalised on some hurried Springbok replacements, adding 1 unconverted try and 1 converted try to the lone penalty by the Springboks, bringing the final score to Springboks 34 / Wales 31.

@150 – Not according to the Super 14…
gooi die bomme op basson
Aplon is playing like a little Champion here.. And the ref is being pedantic again, but let me practice what I preach and not moan about ref’s,if we are good enough,we will still win.
Penalty Bokke…. come Ruan, this is an easy one…
Wales 16 / 14
16-14
Welsh wernt so quite for that kick
Hopefully we can grind them out in the second half.
ricky jy moet kyk wie langs jou staan cj kan darrem wragtag nie kick chase nie
@ Loosehead:
Odd one = Odwa Ndungane 🙂 Gani
This is a 2 Heineken half so far.
ricky en joe gell nie hier nie
160@ Treehugger: That is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to intillectual for me.
Kanko must come on in the 2nd half. Take Big Joe off. Wish we had someone to fill for Ricky too. Pity James was not allowed to play. Heard Ruan was going to go to scrummie and James to fh after the break.
Fukken Januarie, he is just sssssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooo useless.
This game is starting to really frustrate me..

@ smallies72:
162 – Smallies. They are both playing crap. Take both of them off. Kanko must come on. Who the heck can fill in for Ricky? Just hope PdV does not select Ricky next week for scrummie. He must select Ruan there, now that FdP is injured. Not that impressed with Flo and De Jongh either.
Januarie is crap and he knows he is..
Kanko must come on, Joe off… Ruan must move to scrummie, Januarie off…. bring Meyer Bosman on at No 10, he’s played 10 before.
Not impressed with BJ also. Bring on JdP. Damn never thought I would say that but there you go.
Pity about that daft pass by John we would have gone into the lead at the break.
@ Loosehead:
lololololololololololo way to intellect, dont believe 2 beers.
Leave BJ right there…. not Jannie the Dom Dokter… pleaseeeeeeeeeee
@ grootblousmile:
170 – Pity James could not play.
Ricky is not up to this level. Also think this must be the last time we see big Joe. He is passed it. Also Frans Steyn looking a tad bit slow since he moved to France. Bring on Zane at the break. Move Steyn to inside centre. Not to impressed with De Jongh either.
Wow!!!!! hehehehe. I am not too happy with a lot there.
@ grootblousmile:
At this stage I would even put Frans Steyn on Flyhalf and Ruan scrumhalf. Ricky is and will always be a quota player and very over rated.
Meyer Tosman should stay of the field.
I think some very harsh words are going to be said at the break..
Ok serious question….. surely January as a pro athlete(sp) should be forced to lose at least 15kgs, it is his livelyhood and he is paid a lot of money to perform, but if his weight is hindering him he should have to lose it.
@ Puma:
Frans actually lighter and faster since he moved to France. He started slow like everyone else, but we are clawing ourselves back into this game
Problem is as stated earlier our bench is piss poor so the guys on the starting 15 need to wake up.
