Bokke to face Cocky’s… some good some bad

Springbok coach Peter de Villiers has selected a very experienced and competant side for the Test against france at Newlands, Cape Town on Saturday.

A number of players who did not feature in last weekend’s 34-31 victory over Wales in Cardiff have been chosen to face the Six Nations champions, they are Wynand Olivier, Bryan Habana, Morné Steyn, Pierre Spies, Schalk Burger and Gurthrö Steenkamp.

After all the whoo-haa about Butch James, he has not even been included on the bench whereas Jean de Villiers, who missed the Welsh Test because of injury, and Flip van der Merwe, who could make his Springbok debut are both chosen as bench otions.

    Beertime in SA oh ja its an hour later, well, 1630 is still too early for a beer…I’m just jealous, I reserve the weekends only for a beer now….not that I dont enjoy it, but even 1 beer and I am muzzy the next morning…clearly I am working too much. But not today, today I am goofing off.

    jean deVilliers, selected for the world cup squad 2003, injured, didnt even go, then slected 2007 played 1 game, injured, then went home, now having a go again….i used to rate him as the best centre in the world, I dont now, for the same reason I never rated Wikinson as the best flyhalf, they get injured to much. If he holds up, you wont see a happier man than me. Now Butch, I dont know what Snor is doing even thinking of him, let Butch play out the twilight of his career at Bath and retire on top of his game, if he gets back into the hurly burly of International rugby again, he will last 3 games at most, then his knee will go again…..for the 4th time and it will be the last time.

    Die Franse skop altyd ons g@tte in SA, en dit gaan weer gebeur. Fullback gaan knor, ek wetie of Geo hulle vleuels sal keer nie (en onthou wie support ek) – hoewel hy my die hele S14 verkeerd bewys het, so miskien moet ek maar net mbeki hou; Meisiekind hoort nie in ‘n bokspan nie; scrummie suig; reserwes nie reg nie – gelukkig gebeur dit terwyl ek slaap, sal dit opneem en net kyk as ons gewen het 🙂

    Well no wonder Ruan wants to leave. He is way, way better than Ricky. Ricky was not good at all against Wales. What a pity Ruan can’t start at sh now that FdP is injured.

    Selection is key. One thing I must say where Jake White got it right is selection.
