Wing Bryan Habana equalled former scrumhalf Joost van der Westhuizen’s all-time Springbok try scoring record in the Test against Italy in East London.

Habana scored for the 38th time in the Boks’ 55-11 defeat of Nick Mallett’s Azzurri, while playing in his 60th Test.

Habana was tied with All Blacks legend Jonah Lomu on 37 tries heading into the second Test against Italy. Lomu scored his 37 tries in 63 Tests.

Van der Westhuizen scored his 38 tries in 89 Tests as scrumhalf between 1993 to 2003.

    Gerber, Mordt and Germishuis were exceptional, they ahd very few tests to score these tries in, I’d like to see that stat actually.
    Didnt Small break Gerbers record during the 95 world cup, I’m almost sure he did.
