Lekker aand.
Knowledgeable bloggers? Humph
The distribution of votes per player makes little sense
All the non Bulls players have distributions between
below 3 (or 4) and
6, 8 or 9 on the high side
The Bulls players have votes between
6 on the low side
and 9 or 10 on the high side
How Ruan Pienaar can rate between below 3 and 9 is beyond me.
And even Januarie (who despite my misgivings deserved better than most people gave him)
So what does our vote prove?
That people have voted with their provincial (or beer) goggles on the end of their noses.
This blog has a significant percentage of Bulls supporters.
@ Biscuit:
Beskuit do you see in what category this article falls. Fun man fun.
And yes it is true that provincialism is alive and strong. But be honest the guys who performed best was the in form players of this years Super 14 and you know who was the most inform team this year.
@ Biscuit:
Did you vote ?
Yes it is meant to be fun. Of course some idiot is going to cite it as evidence of something rugby.
There is no argument that the Bulls played the best this year. The Stormers also did well and so did the Sharks (after the 1st 5 games)
I was commenting on someone saying how knowledgeable the bloggers were.
The fact that the Bulls were the best this year does not make the Bulls posters (or any others) even slightly objective.
I watched the game from a pub on Cape Town. A chap in front of me was going on about Bulls this and Bulls that.
Its our National side. They represent our country.
Ideally we should not see their province when they pull on that Bok jersey.
I understand why people trump up their favorites.
I don’t understand when they pan their ‘rivals’ when they don’t deserve it.
@ Blouste:
Yes I did vote.
Generally my votes were favourable.
Good performances from Potgieter, Pienaar, de Jongh (maybe allowing for it being his 1st cap)
Decent for guys like Smit (apart from that interception which should not cost a lot), Matfield, Louw, Rossouw
Average for most of the rest. Certain guys got average because they did nothing special or nothing wrong partially because they did not have the opportunity.
Weaker for the following.
BJ – I was not sure what was happening at tighthead. Something was going on there and BJ ended up on the wrong side of the ref.
Joe van Niekerk had a quietish game.
@ Biscuit:
I’mmerely asking because I did not get to see the whole game…
Hence I did’nt vote ,because I knew it would not be a fair reflection…
Sorry, should read….I’m merely asking…
Biscuit wrote:
That was said by me, it was also tongue in the cheek. You named the same players most voted for.
I dont know where this guy comes from who gave Ruan 3 or less, must be a joke.
I read this somewhere else does not sound right
“With the return of CJ van der Linde to play Currie Cup rugby for the Cheetahs and Super 14 rugby for the Stormers, and Gurthrö Steenkamp having revived his international career with a superb Super 14 season, things are looking promising up front”
Is CJ really going to play for the Cheetahs and then move to the Stormers?
The way I understand it Cheetahs in the CC , although he might not have a lot of game time, and then move to the Stormers….
58 @ 57…
@ Blouste:
BJ’s participation in CC and S15 is also up in the air.
I am pretty sure his performance on Saturday was an anomoly. He is too good for it not to be and he played decently at the end of last year.
