Everybody is waiting for the announcement of one team.
1 – dWeePer, Which team……hehehe. Must be Bulls.
How can De Wet Barry be playing? Jeepers where has he played recently? Stormers going to thrash this side. If I was a Stormer supporter would save my money and buy semi tickets and not waste my money on going to this game.
It is over and done for Bulls in this game. If their 2nd string side beats the Stormers I will be gobsmacked completely. Wont happen.
2@ Puma – De Wet Barry was in the Bulls pre-season training squad, he now plays his rugby in PE…
Where do you see the Bulls B-team getting pumped by the Stormers… Up front? In the Loosies? In the halfback pairing? In the centres? On left wing? On right wing? At Fullback?
How sure are you about any of those guesses (the pumping)?
It is not a done deal yet… these Bulls won’t go with the aim to lay down to be spanked!
Let me give you the probable Bulls team, my version…..
15. Tiger Mangweni (has played Super 14 for the Stormers and Cheetahs before and in my mind very underrated player)
14. Jaco van der Westhuizen (former Bok and has a Super 14 medal for 2007)
13. Stephan Dippenaar (regular No 13 starter for successful Bulls this year in S14)
12. De Wet Barry (Springbok and known for his tackling)
11. Helberg (no Super 14 experience, but solid)
10. Jacques-Louis Potgieter (in his preferred position and regular Super 14 player for Bulls in 2010)
9. Heini Adams (regular Super 14 player for Bulls in 2010 and made the Bokke End of Year Tour last year)
8. Danie Rossouw (was Bok in this position with great success and has 100 Super 14 Caps)
7. Pedrie Wannenburg (Bok and regular Super 14 campaigner)
6. Derick Kuun (started quite a few games in place of Stegmann due to rotation, did well enough)
5. Flip van der Merwe (Find of the season for Bulls, strong, robust…. started a few games this year and Bakkies and Rossouw was’nt missed in those games… maybe a future Bok)
4. Bakkies Botha (what more can be said of the machine?)
3. Bees Roux (played in a number of S14 games this year as sub and did not weaken the Bulls scrum)
2. Bandise Maku (regular Super 14 player from the bench and in my opinion better than Chilliboy, very underrated player and gives 100%)
1. Jaco Engels (regular Super 14 player in years before 2010 at the Bulls, in fine form)
Benchers:
Brummer, Chilliboy, Gert-Jan van Velze (Vodacom Captain)….
What would the Lions have paid for a run-on team like this??
Would a team like this have lost 12 on the trot??
How does the quality in this team compare to the quality of the Force, Cheetahs, Reds….. 2 of which won against the Stormers?
How does this backline compare to the Sharks backline?
It seems some people finds it difficult to understand.
The Bulls do not select teams to lose. Yes, they do lose matches, never on purpose.
GBS, I take it that those questions are rhetorical because there really is no way to answer them with any certainty. Not that they’re not interesting question – they are.
Maybe I can add one or two myself e.g. by what score would the Blues and Reds have klapped this side, would this side have beaten the Canes and Saders at Loftus, etc.But I get your point: this is still a very good side.
The real question about this side is, is this side that good that should they get klapped by the Stormers on Saturday bdb and Blouste will be prevented from saying “ja, maar dit wassie ons eerste span nie”!
So bdb and Blouste discourse following the game will provide the acid test… 😉
Come on the Sharks 🙂
5@ Kitaarsnaar – The Stormers should beat this Bulls team, and most probably will… I’m just saying it is still surprisingly strong!
If the Stormers do not win…. well, can you imagine the ridicule?
#GBS,bdb
Looks like I got it wrong. Bdb is getting his excuses in early…. ;-(
12: dak =dag
11: ja, ek is skuldig. Ons het darem ‘n verskoning as ons span verloor, wat gaan julle s’n wees as jul A-span verloor ?
Ek sien die Sharks en die Cheetah spanne is bekend gemaak.
bdb @ 13

14@ dWeePer – Sharks team is up… just waiting for clarification on the Bosman fitness test at the Cheetahs…
#13 Bdb, you won’t hear any excuses from me. Firstly, ’cause I don’t make excuses and secondly, there will be no need to.
Still its disappointing to see the Bulls stars this scared of getting hurt and running away from a challenge. It would never have happened in Thys Lourens and the Brigadier’s day.
I mean why go to Pamplona – we have a Running of the Bulls right here in Cape Town. 🙁
blouste @ 18
eks onder geen illusies nie bru
