Stormers (28) 38 / Bulls (3) 10 (Final Score)

The Stormers hosted the Bulls at Newlands, Cape Town at 17:05 SA Time. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1 on DSTV in SA.

The Stormers won the encounter by 38 / 10 and earned a bonus point in the process, elevating them to No 2 on the Log and also earning them a Home semi-final.

It was clear that the many changes the Bulls made, fielding a B-side made their cohesion less whereas the Stormers appeared to be a well oiled machine.

The Bulls B-side was not disgraced though and showed better form than at least 2 or 3 of the Super 14 teams who occupy the 12th, 13th and 14th spots on the Log.

Commentators agree with you bdb, why give the Australians something to run with , blow right and let it happen the right way

The Tahs must be real pissed off now.:)

56 – gbs, I should have had Stormers by 30 or more. Only have them by 14. Maybe even more than 30. This really cheapens the Bulls huge pride in their jersey over the years, playing a 2nd string side. Then I know it should benefit them against the Saders when their full strength side is back. But what ever Stormers beat Bulls by today will do down in history as just that, Stormers beat Bulls not Bulls 2nd side. Sad actually that.

Anyhow for what it is worth. Still watching the game.

Seems like Kaplan also wants whats best for SA, a home semi for the Stormers 😆

62 – Winston they sure must be. We would have felt the same had they done the same there or in NZ. Not a good advert for SA rugby doing this. BUT it will get us two home semi finals 😆 Brings in plenty money to SA rugby too. So maybe there it helps but not the game really. Sad for this to happen.

    63@ Puma – Ag, don’t worry… game is still long…

  • 68

Dont agree with you Puma,Matfield’s body must be so broken after this tournament so the rest will do the team wonders, they will be raring to go next week.. It benefits the Bulls and the Boks in the long term..

Our rugby needs all the money it can get so I’m all for a Stormers victory today 🙂 That try might be the game..

  • 71

Ons B-span help Habana darem om beter te lyk.

  • 72

Bulle moet darem nou nie naam weggooi nie !!!

    67 – gbs, Hope so.

68 – Winston by this stage every player’s body is broken….hehe. Though if you have got so many point above the rest, it is the Bulls reward to rest players. I understand that. Every team in the S14 would have done the same. Maybe not rest the entire team but they would have rested a lot of players.

Looking forward to the Bulls/Saders game next week. That will be awesome. So too the Stormers and Tahs. Hope I get to see it though.

Just think about the big picture guys.. What if a serious injury happened to one of your big guns in a game that means nothing?

  • 77

    Game over already. 🙁

  • 79

Flok die bliksem kry seker n duisend kaste wyn vandag

  • 83

76 – Winston, of course you right. Just seems sad to see Bulls getting a huge hiding here.

Time will tell if it was a good thing to rest the entire team. Those Saders looked very sharp yesterday. They will be ready for battle.

Try number 3 Stormers. We may even see a 50 point win over the Bulls here.

Yip, not nice seeing the boys being led to the slaughter house, but at the end it will all be good for SA rugby…

  • 88

I just think in the grand scheme of things it suits South African rugby, plus the Bulls may uncover some real depth for the play offs..
