Stormers (28) 38 / Bulls (3) 10 (Final Score)
The Stormers hosted the Bulls at Newlands, Cape Town at 17:05 SA Time. This is the match thread for discussion of the game. The match was broadcast live on SuperSport 1 on DSTV in SA.
The Stormers won the encounter by 38 / 10 and earned a bonus point in the process, elevating them to No 2 on the Log and also earning them a Home semi-final.
It was clear that the many changes the Bulls made, fielding a B-side made their cohesion less whereas the Stormers appeared to be a well oiled machine.
The Bulls B-side was not disgraced though and showed better form than at least 2 or 3 of the Super 14 teams who occupy the 12th, 13th and 14th spots on the Log.

325: stem saam Pieta. Iemand moet ook vir Schalla sê om sy hare te los as hul met hom praat, weet nie of dit senuwee is of net slegte gewoonte nie.
SB, the Bulls did the right thing, they are on top and can do whatever they want to. They could have moered the Stormers as you put it but moering comes from both sides so then next week who’s gonna moer who? Bulls dictate as it is now, I don’t buy this mental edge thing, every team knows well enough Bulls are good.
Don’t under-estimate the Stormers as you clearly do, Stormers won comfortably against the Saders at sea level, Bulls struggled at altitude on won because of a very shaky decision.
So don’t be too comfortable.
332@ Boerboel – I don’t buy the mental edge thing either…
Like the Bulls said from game 1…. “We want to run our own race!” and that is exactly what they’ve done so far.
Neither the Stormers or the Bulls can afford to think past this coming weekend’s semi-finals… for now it is only the next game which counts…. that semi is of paramount importance.
Netso GBS
And Saders are gonna be a handfull, they are on the up
bulls and stormers have a steep road before the finals
tahs or saders wont come here to just lay down
So hulle sal seker beter as ek weet.
boys no matter wot , va one wiff da most points on da baord will win k?? 😆
336@ Boerboel – Waratahs just as tough… beware of them too.
Saders, well that is one scary mean machine….
well hy sal in elk geval dalk geskors word
Mental edge or no mental edge… it is valid for 2 weeks only….. that is IF the two teams meet in the final…. then the winner of the Final will have the mental edge for a year…..
But first there is the mountain of semi-finals to climb….
Bulls may lose their semi and Stormers may win theirs…. or Stormers may lose and Bulls may win… or both win… or both lose…. simple as that….
One game at a time.
Only 3 Super 14 games left….. tick tock, tick tock…
Well congrats to the Stormers for reaching the semi finals for the first time in many years.
We always say SA is strong when the WP and Bulls are strong so lets hope it turns out that way. Sharks came back well and the Cheetahs too. Only the poor Lions was coached into the mine holes of Jo,burg.

Bulle !
OK, good night folks….. see you in the morrow…
Oh shit, I suppose I better do my Bru Cricket pick…. not that it matters…
344: sal Snyman uitlos vir ‘n ekstra voorspeler.
What will happen next
Bulls vs Crusaders
Stormers vs Waratahs
if Bulls win they take on
a) Stormers, they know Kaylitsha and townships, they wont be intimidated by it
b) Waratahs, they dont know that place and must have a bit of fear for it.They now have the chance to acclimatise by traveling a week earlier playing a bruised Stormers team.
it could have been
Waratahs at home vs Crusaders
that would have left the Bulls if they won with
a) Waratahs traveling late to SA , or
b) crusaders same thing , a lot of travel and a even harder finishing schedule.
I would have tried my best to eliminate the Stormers NOW.
343 – Super, That was the saying but SA was strong in the WC 2007 when Sharks and Bulls were strong. So really it does not matter as long as we have depth in two or 3 teams that is fine.
349 – Super maybe you right about your best side playing Stormers in this game. Then you would have had to face them again next week. Not sure if both teams would have been up for it two weeks in a row. Then you never know.
Puma and one thing is also true, remember when PdV started by rewarding the Stormer players at his start.
Anyway that is a battle on its own, we will start the debating when the Bok team is picked.
I am creating a poll not for the team of the week , that sequence was broken last week. How about a S14 Team of 2010?
352 – Super, Think plenty Stormers will get selected again. Always the best must. Just like in 2007 for that wc.
He will have core players and choose some new players I think.
353 – Do that Super. Will it be only a saffa team? Well any way is fine.
Cheers catch up tomorrow.
