So we were beaten, by the team that adopted the best strategy for the day. Congratulations to all my fellow bloggers who happen to be Bulls.  Be sure that this isn’t the end of the rivalry, and the Stormers will come again, stronger, better prepared, and more experienced.

I will never get used to the Vuvuzela noise as it was in the Stadium on Saturday, and without wanting to sound negative, I sincerely hope that the Vuvuzela fad isn’t carried over to Loftus.  It doesn’t have a place in rugby, and personally, I will stop attending rugby matches permanently should it become a regular occurrence.

That being said, what everyone said was true, experience has been a major factor, the Stormers came, but they were found wanting.  We were behind from early on, having to chase a game, against a fanatic home-crowd, and having 50/50 calls ALL go against one, it would never have been easy.

A few light points…albeit some iffy handling Andries Bekker showed that he meant business, with at least 4 line-out steals, 3 or 4 turnovers and some powerful defence.

Pierre Spies, dissappeared from the game after 25 minutes, and Duane Vermeulen and Francois Louw had exceptional games.

But in the end we lost, it was sad, and I will never understand why we only left our best  game for the final 30 minutes.

Again, congatulations Bulls, on a well deserved victory…

    #56 Blouste,

You must know Habs really well to claim that he was jealous. I think he behaved himself very professionaly. He could easily have thrown the ball in the air to celebrate his third try this year against his former team.

In the end, his celebration after dotting down was very respectful. Don’t you think that the least you can do is reward the man’s respect to you as a Bulls fan by refraining from these silly accusations?

    @ fender:

You see, I accept that the ref cannot see everything and it is probably because we won that I don’t really care about the try. Fact is that he was offside, now I am not going to go on a tirade like some of your team’s supporters who had their birthright(AKA known as winning the S14) revoked.

But I’m sure you are not one of them so lets leave it there.

    58@ vanStraaten:

My one eye could not find one accusation in blouste’s post. Was it on another forum?

  • 65

    One-eye,

You raised this silly notion, so if you’re prepared to ditch it I’ll be very happy. Thanks..

Whilst at the Bulls, Bryan Habana, Wynand Olivier and Francois Hougaard were close as friends, going everywhere together… the three musketeers, sort of…. it’s only right that they show respect towards one another…

On the field they are now adversaries but I’m sure off the field they’re still big buds….

….” but imo he must have felt some form of “jealousy”…”

With emphasis on IMO… translated specially for you…( in MY opninion )

Come now, I know you suppoert the Stormpoppies, but your not that stupid !?!?!

#64 Broer read post #56 again and then you tell me….

    @ fender:

You still dont get it ? 😯

    @ fender:

As far as I see he had a dig at Fourie not Habana. But as said earlier.

  • 73

#68 Yes Blouste, you’re right – it is your opinion that I’m questioning. And your accusation of jealousy is so small hearted and unnecessary.

As GBS points out, you don’t give up your friendships because your friends are playing in a different colour shirt than you these days.

Did you never share a beer with an opponent in a dressing room after a match? Man, I’m not a great beer drinker but those were some of the best tasting beers I ever had.

Friendship, my Blouste friend – not jealousy.

Tactically the Stormers were naïve. A final is about percentage rugby. Their kicking game was far inferior to that of the Bulls. You can have the best defense in the world, if your kicking game sucks your not going to win in a game of percentage rugby. Morne Steyn is the most complete fly-half in the world right now, and scoring 18 points per game in the Super 14 that’s just outstanding.

  • 76

    74@ vanStraaten:
Straatie, congrats on changing your tune in favour of Morne…. a few short months ago you were dead set against him, now you’re a changed man…. it takes guts to do that….. kudo’s.

    @ fender:

” And your accusation of jealousy is so small hearted and unnecessary.

  • 79

Actually our friend, tighthead called the game well, before it happened…. he said the Bulls front row will be dominant… and they were.

  • 80

During the match the Stormers on three occasions opted for short kicks and line out. On all three occasions it was goalable. With possible 9 points the result could have been different.

The way I interpret the words of Schalk:

I, Schalck Burger, is super stupid and the referee is a crook.

  • 81

Hy behoort enige tyd net so groot straf/boete of selfs groter as Giteau te kry !!!

  • 82

    @ Pokkel:

    Thanks.

    #77 Blouste

My man, I think your dancing shoes have lost a bit of their shine, but let’s rather just leave it there, ok?

  • 84

  • 85

😉 (Fender, sien jy die ‘smiley’ raak, hoop so, want ek maak ‘n grap !)

78: Yip, BMT = Baie Mooi Trofees !

  • 86

    83 @ fender:

And I’m of opinion that you lost yours all together, but yes we’ll leave it there…

  • 87

    Bulle S14 kampioene: 2007, 2009, 2010
    CB kampioene: 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009
    VC kampioene: 2002, 2008, 2010

Nou vra jy my vir wie ek skree ?
