Fark, really miffie weather AGAIN today…. and I’ve got a heater on as well… this is going to be a cold winter!
Wonder what the Sharks backline is going to look like..
2@ Winnie – Sharks backline will look shitty…. hehehehe
Thats a true story.. But our forward can match yours 🙂
Winston, you reckon 😯
If Bakkies is on the bench we will bud.. But we are going to get killed in our midfield. We have some real hard bruisers in Alberts and Deysel 🙂
Hello all.
Go Bulls and Stormers. Wouldn’t an all SA final be great.
It’s been a while, but I have put in my super scores. Not doing too well at all.
Good luck to all teams this weekend.
rudi if ur here bro here is a bit a sad news for the bulls , ill post here delete or do with the info as you please
Bulls blow as Akona breaks leg

The Vodacom Bulls were hit with a massive blow on Wednesday when Springbok winger Akona Ndungane broke his leg in the team’s final full practice session at Loftus Versfeld.

Ndungane was due to make his return to the side after the exact same injury in last year’s Absa Currie Cup which kept him out of action for six months. While it can’t be confirmed just yet, it is thought that he snapped the bone in the exact same place as the last time.
The cruel blow could well turn out to be a career-threatening one for the Bok winger but it was too early to speculate on the seriousness of the injury in that regard.
Ndungane was in the starting line-up for the Sharks game, and was due to replace Sello Mametsa in the starting line-up as one of the changes from the side that beat the Lions 51-11 last weekend. He will now be replaced by Francois Hougaard, who Mametsa replaced at the last minute last weekend after the utility back pulled a hamstring in the team’s captain’s run on Friday.
“He is one of the guys who has been in our system for a very long time now, and we had a lot of hope that he would make a successful comeback this weekend. It’s sad but we need to go on,” Bulls coach Frans Ludeke said. Captain Victor Matfield said it was a massive blow for the team, who had supported Ndungane in his bid to make the comeback to Vodacom Super 14 rugby.
“It’s a big loss, and he worked very hard to be able to make the comeback this weekend,” Matfield said, “He has been one of our stalwarts over the past five, six years and it is very sad that he won’t be able to make that comeback now.
“We’re lucky that Francois Hougaard is able to slot in and he has played there well this season for us. It just shows that you must enjoy every moment that you have in this game, because you never know when you’re going to be injured.”
Ludeke cautioned about talk that Ndungane’s career may be over.
“It’s too early to say, we will wait for the x-rays to be taken, and the specialist to give his opinion before we will know how bad it is,” Ludeke added.
Ndungane was running back to fetch a kick when he turned and slipped on the wet field, going down with his team-mates hearing a loud crack. He was taken to the Little Company of Mary hospital.
Irish, how are you?
Long time no see hey.
Hope all is well on your side…
Bakkies is back for the Bulls in the starting team.
Stalwart winger, John Mametsa, is back in the Vodacom Blue Bulls side that will take on the Sharks XV in the semi-final of the Vodacom Cup to be played at Loftus C on Saturday.
Mametsa scored for the Vodacom Bulls last weekend in the Super 14 clash against the Lions, but will be looking to help his regular team to a second consecutive final in the competition this time around.
Deon Helberg, who played on the wing last weekend against the Western Province, will move to outside centre, filling the spot left by Stephan Dippenaar, who is not eligible to play in the semi, as well as being drafted to the Bulls as a replacement in their match against the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld.
The team show no other changes for the match, which according to coach Nico Serfontein, should be determined up front.
“With the weather as it is and the field expected to be heavy underfoot, I expect the real battle to be up front, where we did well against Province last weekend. The Sharks XV have some big units up front and some real class in their halfback combination, so we will have to at our very best. “
The team is: Tiger Mangweni, Vainon Willis, Deon Helberg, Stefan Watermeyer, John Mametsa, Francois Brummer, Ruan Snyman, Gerrit-Jan van Velze (c), Okkie Kruger,Devin Oosthuizen, Fudge Mabeta, Cornell Hess, Dean Greyling, Chiliboy Ralepelle, Jaco Engels. Replacements: Zane Botha, Morné Mellett, Rossouw de Klerk, Vincent Gwavu, Danie Faasen, Marnitz Boshoff, Ernst Dinkelman.
Uh Oh,now we are in trouble if Oom Bakkies is back. That is terrible news about Akona.hope he has a speedy recovery.
Jacques-Louis Potgieter will start a match for the Vodacom Bulls for the first time against the Sharks at Loftus Versfeld on Saturday.
Potgieter, who made nine appearances as a substitute already this year, replaces the injured Jaco Pretorius in one of five changes in the starting line up from the side that beat the Lions 51-11 last weekend.
Potgieter will start in the midfield with Wynand Olivier, his fellow former Afrikaans Boys High School pupil.
“I have been waiting for this for ten weeks now, so I cannot wait to take on the Sharks,” Potgieter said.
“I am very keen to use the opportunity and grab my chance.”
Bakkies Botha resumes his locking partnership with Victor Matfield in his first appearance for the year after recovering from Achilles surgery.
He replaces Danie Rossouw, who moves to the bench, as will Derick Kuün in a rotational switch with Deon Stegmann. Fourie du Preez is also back as scrum half and replaces Heini Adams. John Mametsa and Flip van der Merwe misses out altogether.
Francois Hougaard recovered from the hamstring strain that ruled him out of the Lions match and will start at left wing, while regular team member, Stephan Dippenaar, who played for the Blue Bulls in a Vodacom Cup quarter-final match last weekend, warms the bench.
The team (with caps) is: Zane Kirchner (36), Gerhard van den Heever (14), , Jacques-Louis Potgieter (27), Wynand Olivier (67), Francois Hougaard (12), Morné Steyn (69), Fourie du Preez (95), Pierre Spies (52), Dewald Potgieter (27), Deon Stegmann (35), Victor Matfield (105), Bakkies Botha (83), Werner Kruger (38), Gary Botha (69), Gurthrö Steenkamp (62). Replacements: Bandise Maku (16), Bees Roux (26), Danie Rossouw (98), Derick Kuün (51), Heini Adams (34), Stephan Dippenaar (9), Pedrie Wannenburg (108).
Notes:
•Morné Steyn need 23 more points to become the fastest player to 200 points ever in Super Rugby. Daniel Carter (12 matches, 2004) holds the record. Steyn’s 671 points are already the most by any Bulls player and the most by any South African player in the competition.
•Jacques-Louis Potgieter starts for the Bulls for the first time. He played for the Bulls 10 times and also has 19 caps for the Vodacom Cheetahs.
•Bakkies Botha last played for the Vodacom Bulls in the 2009 Vodacom Super 14 final.
•Wynand Olivier (95), Jacques-Louis Potgieter (92), Fourie du Preez (90) and Pierre Spies (95) are all looking for their 100th point in the competition.
•The Vodacom Bulls will try to extend their winning run at Loftus Versfeld in Super Rugby to 17 consecutive wins.
Welcome back Bakkies !!!
Also the new center pairing is an exciting prospect !!!
9 – Irish, How you doing mate? Have not seen you here for a very long time.
16 – So Blouste, The Bulls must rate the Sharks to bring back for our game 😀
Going to be tough battle with the Forwards but your backs are pure class to ours. Except Ruan and Lambie they match up well with the Bulls 9 and 15. Your centres and FH way, way better than the Sharks. Hope Mvovo brings some needed pace on the wing.
18 – Sorry meant, Bring back Bakkies for our game.
6 – Winston for sure, we will need Alberts and Deysel to be at their very best for this game, also Botes.

Yes it will surely be another tough tough match.
If we beat you however I don’t see the same intensity from the Sharks the next week against the Stormers seeing that they will know by then that they have no chance anymore 🙁
But for now, lets focus on this weekend !!! 👿
sharky forever…you’re kidding right ?!
me never lol
Would like playig that team though… 😆
What is this obsession with playing Kanko in the backline, play him at 8 off the bench. Sharks need to get proper centres.. Klaar.
22 – Blouste, There will be. Bok places up for grabs. Sharks will play full out against both the Bulls and Stormers. Though after the Bulls game we may have injuries. I am hoping not.
SA Derby game are the hardest in the world. We don’t just give up cause we wont make a final, not ever. We play for pride. We as saffas remember 😀
