David Hill’s improbable rugby career takes another turn today when he turns out for Western Force against the Highlanders in Queenstown.
But for a few twists of fate, the 31-year-old’s career might have included a lengthy career for the Highlanders – and even he wouldn’t have imagined a decade ago that he would be turning out for a Perth-based Super rugby franchise in the 2010 season.
Hill answered an SOS call from Force coach John Mitchell after the season ending injury to Andre Pretorius.
He made a late start to the season following his commitments with champion Japanese club team Toshiba, but last week kicked a drop goal after the final whistle to give the Force a 16-15 win over the Stormers, their first of the season.
Game about to begin, any life out there?
