The Bulls web site describes the win as follows:
The Vodacom Bulls are back on top of the Vodacom Super 14 log after beating the Chiefs 33-19 in Hamilton on Friday.
The Bulls, who scored twice in each half, was 15-13 up at the break, but some ill-discipline saw the home side surge ahead 19-15 through the boot of Stephen Donald. Mornè Steyn, who had a mixed day with the boot, kicked two penalties to get his side in front again and then Fourie du Preez struck.
The Bulls scrumhalf broke clear from halfway and although he was stopped short of the line, the Bulls held on to the ball and worked Gary Botha over. Steyn converted and with the Bulls 28-19 ahead with ten minutes to go, a first-ever win at Waikato stadium seemed imminent.
It was even more so when Du Preez intercepted a Chiefs pass and ran 80 meters to score, only for the try to be disallowed. Touch judge Kane Mcbride picked up a late tackle by Deon Stegmann in an earlier movement and instead of celebrating their bonus point try, the Bulls were looking at the Chiefs flyhalf to cut the deficit and bring the home side back in the game.
Incredibly, he missed from right in front. The Bulls then stepped it up once again and when Dewald Potgieter crashed over from a line-out maul, the home side were truly beaten.
The Bulls will be happy with their performances in the scrums and line-outs, where the rolling maul became more and more effective as the game wore on.
The backs defended stoutly and ran in a great try via Gerhard van den Heever. Zane Kirchner was outstanding in defence and the Chiefs could only break the Bulls defense lines with an opportunistic try by Brendon Leonard.

I think with this victory today the Bulls have assured themselves a home semi final. And probably a top spot on the log. God help any team going to fortress Loftus.
<<< completes bloues posting
BUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLShit!!!! 😆
627 – Winston well you must have climbe a bit as you got the win yesterday too.
636
That would be nice, i havent played a game in 2 years, itching to go again. Had 2 shoulder ops , but that is no excuse anymore. I stopped at 14 HC, was once a 10. But only for a month. i practiced almost 3 times per week to break that double figures but missed out.
I think its too far gone now but these 20 20 games are almost impossible to predict,I watch a hell of a lot of cricket and in test cricket and odi cricket you get a feel for how the game is going to go but in T 20 you never know because it just takes one big innings or one great bowling performance to win a game..
612 – Super, No problem I always support the saffa sides that are playing overseas sides. Especially the Bulls this year as they are our hope of holding a final here. So really want them to do well.
Hope my Sharks can beat the Blues here that would help maybe the Stormers. Bulls don’t need help they will get to the final for sure. Looking that way.
What are you guys feelings about the Stormers game tomorrow? I just have a feeling the Blues will be too much for the Stormers?
614 – Sharky, Was just pleased to see Bulls win and get the bonus.
Missing not having the Sharks playing this week. Hope the players are well rested by next week.
Lets hope the Sharks dont underestimate the Lions next week, but it will be nice to pick up 5 points, but the boys still need to go out there and do the job..
true winston
super agreed we should maybe get a 4 ball together from rugby talk and play atleast once a month
would be great
i have had a knee op and a shoulder op and eish golf is a must 😆
i am going to the game
646 – Winston, I have mixed feelings. Stormers could see what went wrong for Bulls last week and correct that, then the pressure is on them to win as they have now lost 2 games. Those Blues are looking really good at the moment, especially their centres. Rene Ranger is a really class player.
If Blues play like last week and the Stormers play like they did against the Force, then Blues will win it easy. Ricksy is not starting so that is a good thing for Stormers. They have their inside centre back too which will help a lot. Think it will be a close game tomorrow. Stormers defence is really good. So maybe Stormers but not too sure.
I need to buy some clubs again and get back to the driving range before I try that out,am very much a beginner. But will catch up for game of rugby over a cold one one of the days 🙂
yeah puma bulls did thier cause good this morning
puma why dont you and winston join the wife and me at ellis park on the 17th??
would be brilliant
i told ya winston , ur just up the road from me , hop on ur bicycle and get ur ass over here 😆
super i been a scratch golf for around 18 years
but last 6 years working up in Africa messed my golf up in places like Sudan where there are no golf courses
638 – Super, that is disappointing was hoping that Schwartzel would take up from where he left yesterday.
now ill be playing off about a 9
actually feels weird holding onto a golf club again
654 – Sharky that is if I am up here. Need to fly back to Umhlanga for a week then back.
I am not keep going to Ellis Park. Hate the drive back at night. That is a night game.
