An official Press release from the Blue Bulls Company has been released, here it is, word for word:
Boet Fick resigns as president of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union
The president of the Blue Bulls Rugby Union, Boet Fick, announced his resignation from this position today.
Fick will leave his position on June 1st 2010 after being elected as executive member of SA Rugby for the next four years.
The constitution of SA Rugby prohibits Fick to belong to any management structures at the BBRU.
Louis Nel, currently Fick’s deputy, will take over from June 1st after being elected by the BBRU electoral structures. He will fill the post till November, when the general yearly meeting of the BBRU will take place and new elections be held.
An election to fill Nel’s position will take place in the next 14 days. Commissioner Hans Coetzee and André Ferreira have been nominated.
Fick said the two Vodacom Super 14 trophies the Vodacom Bulls have won and the Absa Currie Cup win last season will be highlights to be remembered.
“The good co-operation of all the various groupings in the union is another highlight. I took over when things were not working so well and is happy to say it is much better now. It is sad to go and I would like to thank all management and members of the BBRU for the privilege to work with them. It was an honour to be the president of such a union and I want to wish the BBRU all the best for the future.”
Sensational headline.
Boet go well, SARU will be better with you there.
It was expected though… due to the fact that Boet cannot be on the SARU Exco and be at the Bulls.
Let’s hope for some continuity and continued success at the Bulls!
News…. Francois Hougaard is injured and will be replaced by John Mametsa for tomorrow’s Super 14 game between the Bulls and the Lions
John is a real workhorse, Bulls must not start now with injuries. Sad for FH.
4@ SuperBul – John Mametsa defends like a trojan…. maybe a blessing!
I like John very much, hope he plays another good game. This is a loyal Bulls player if you ever wanted one. From Pietersburg, Capricorn High
Okay gbs, See boet will part of saru for the next 4 years. Maybe that is a good thing.
Wish him well.
6@ SuperBul – If John was slightly bigger he would have been a Bok, he’s got a huge heart and gives 120% each time!
9@ SuperBul – Sal so maak
