It is again time for all our esteemed rugby gurus and knowledgeable bloggers to pick the South African players who performed best over this weekend. No Bulls player played this week so we can NOT pick them, even though they did enough to stay on top of the LOG.

Nominate the players , only 1 player per position,  you must make up your mind. If you nominate 2  the first name will be regarded as your choice .

Make sure you pick a player in his run-on  position.

Make picks before Monday 16h30.

RT will do the calculation and publish our teams

Everyone is requested to submit their teams. We will compare ours with the Team of the week picked by the Guru,s (read selectors).Lets make this a fun filled selection game.

Please use this format to post your teams, it makes it easier to copy and paste

I think after the mess of the reffing this week it will get better. I am sure refs will have been spoken too and it will get better. Hoping 😀

Stormers and Bulls play the same teams on tour. Force, Blues, Chiefs and Reds. Not a bad tour that. Both play Force first so the first leg of the travel not too bad. The head straight to NZ play both their games there then to Brisbane and home. Wish both teams all the best for their tour when it comes. Both should pick up plenty wins there. I feel.

Horrible about Brussow, and I was SO looking forward to the Brussow-Steggman battle for the No6 green jersey this year. 😥

    Morning all

    Congrats to:

    1. The Bulls for leading the log without having to kick a ball.
    2. The mighty Cheetahs for a great win.
    3. The Stormers for gaining a bonus point and clean sheet against them.

Get well soon Mr Brussouw – sad when an injury so severe nails a player.

    Hello,

My Team players of the week are as follows:

15 Joe Petersen (with Hennie Danniler very close behind him, almost a toss-up between the 2)
    14 Lionel Mapoe
13 Jaque Fourie (he was quiet though, but there were no other stand-outs either)
12 Meyer Bosman (some superb long range penalties and very solid in midfield)
    11 Bryan Habana
10 Naas Olivier (compared to Peter Grant, Burton Francis and Andy Goode, I suppose it is an easy pick)
9 Sarel Pretorius (with Dewalt Duvenhage hot on his heels. It was the 1st game where Tewis de Bruin did not start… and look how good the Staat suddenly looked with Sarel there)
8 Kankowski (he had a brilliant game, but Duane Vermeulen and the hard working Frans Viljoen also had great days)
    7 Juan Smith
6 Schalk Burger (he was immense)
5 Andries “Langbek” Bekker (another solid performance, this year and end of last year on tour he stepped up and is developing into a worthy successor for Victor Matfield for the Bokke)
4 Anton van Zyl (very good game, he should now be the regular Stormers No 4)
3 W P Nel (awesome, gave John Schwalger a lesson and a half!)
2 Deon Fourie (best performance by a SA hooker this season)
1 Wian du Preez (considering the quality of the overall opposition played, it has to be him)

Honourable mentions must go to Jacques Coetzee & Water Venter at the Lions and Oupa Stefan Terblanche at the Sharks

    Hi Guys and girls

Just a quick hello. I am in the very cold Europe where had snow yet again this morning!

I could not help but comment on GBS’ team above! The day that Naas olivier is our outstanding No 10 must surely indicate something wrong somewhere. I can’t watch the S14 so it is impossible for me to judge form. I assumed Naas at 10 is only because Bulls didn’t play this week.

Anycase, if the guy (Naas) plays well give hm his dues!!

    All the best.

73@ Boerboel – It is only because the Bulls did not play…. I do not like Naas Olivier generally but out of the bunch, I feel he was the better flyhalf.
