Bakkies Botha arrived in Toulon on Friday to begin discussions about a possible move there after the 2011 Rugby World Cup.

Botha, currently recuperating from achilles tendon surgery, met Mourad Boujellal on the Côte d’Azur for preliminary talks over a possible move.

He would follow in the footsteps of Bulls and South Africa team-mate Victor Matfield, who spent a part of the 2007/8 season at the club to help them get promotion from the ProD2.

Du Preez playing in Japan, Matfield coaching the Waratahs, Botha playing in Toulon…seems like a certain union is going to have a rebuilding phase…can I get you guys the number of Loffie Eloff? Most experienced re-building coach alive today…

No new news, he is playing his cards well in advance. No-one expected him, victor or fourie to stay. I will be surprised if M Steyn, Potties or Spies anounced they will be leaving after 2011.

Saint, bakkies leaves – Cue van der merwe(years experience in bulls land)
Matfield leaves – cue Juandre Kruger(2 year experience with bulls)
F Dup leaves – Francois hougaard(3 years experience in bulls land)

Now I know we will struggle in 2012, but from 2013 all things should be back to normal.

The above mentioned deputies will play the whole currie cup this year and next year and might start a couple of games next year when the incumbents have to rest.

vd merwe should read(3 years experience)

    Personally, I’m not worried…

But wait, there are Stormers, Sharks and Cheetahs and Lions to follow… who will do the same…

Dit help nie om te probeer lekkerkry oor die Bulls wat moontlik waai nie… die Bulls is eintlik slim, vroegtydige waarskuwing beteken dat die Unie vroegtydig vervangingsplanne kan maak, dis al!

Do you think Habana, Schalla, Januarie, Grant, Jaque Fourie, John Smit, Johan Muller, Splitpin van den Berg, Odwa, Terblanche and a few others will still be in SA after 2011?

    I don’t think so….

Good luck to Oom Bakkies,go and enjoy your final years earning good money before you retire, because after 2011 he would have won 2 world cups and 4 tri nations titles,4 super 14’s and a Lions series victory.

GBS – Splitpin van den Berg, Terblanche & Smit will all probably be in SA.

They just won’t be playing for the Sharks. Maybe their Golden Oldies.

Agreed that all sides in the SH will have similar hassles.
The Sharks lost a lot in the last 2 years. The Bulls did a better job at replenishing what they lost (eg they aint missing Habs much)

But it is all part of the game.
