Rugby friends, muppits, moepels and mopkoppe…
OUR OWN RUGBY-TALK SUPER 14 COMPETITION HAS ARRIVED!!
Finally, you might say…. yes damnit… finally.
We have specialists who are running the Competition for us, we have our OWN DIVISION, only open for Rugby-Talk registered USERS.
It works as follows:
Above the Home Page Articles (and for the time being, all other pages), you will find our Competition Graphics and the Link to LOG IN. Just Click on the picture of theCompetition Graphics… it will Take you to a Page which looks like this…
This is your normal LOG IN link to make predictions… BUT of course you have to register first, to be able to have a LOG IN USERNAME and PASSWORD!!
In our Division, no money is contributable, so the game is ASOLUTELY FREE… our Organisers, SportsPool Club still needs to change our rules and conditions accordingly, so do not let yourself be fooled that there is money to be paid!
To register, do the folowing:
CLICK on “CLICK HERE” right the bottom of the Login Block… it will bring up your E-Mail Bowser with the following addess already filled in: webmaster@rugby-talk.com
Send me the following:
- Username – Same as your RUGBY-TALK nickname
- Password – Any password you choose as your Competition Password, you can change it later should you want to in your competition Profile
- Real Name and Surname
- Preferred E-Mail addres
- Contact Number (phone) – should you wish to do this, this is in case of a technical glitch with your predictions, I could help easier with this info. It not a REQUIREMENT though.. for all sensitive souls
That’s it…
I will now, as webmonster, approve your Competition entries… soon as done you will get an E-Mail confirming your entry.
Now all that remains is to LOG IN and MAKE YOUR PICKS for the week….and the same next week…and so on… and so on
You will note that this is different from SUPERBRU because here you have to guess the whole score, not only the margin of the win, it puts a bit of meat on the actual pick.
Due to the short period for registration, the FIRST GAME which will OFFICIALLY count for calculation of the EVENTUAL WINNER of the GRAND PRIZE….. is the CHEETAHS VS BULLS game in 24 hours time. Do your picks for tomorrow morning’s games though, if you are in time with REGISTRATION TONIGHT.
Tonight you will also find INFORMATION in the form of an ADVERT, with a CLICK THROUGH to the wonderful TSHUKUDU GAME LODGE, who are the proud sponsors of our GRAND PRIZE, a weekend for 2 at this pristine “BIG FIVE RESORT”

COMPETITION RULES:
Predictions for each game must be placed by midnight before the game (SAST). After this deadline, the system automatically locks predictions. If you miss the deadline, a “Lucky Pick” system will be used to generate a score prediction for you. The Lucky Pick cannot equal the exact actual score or be a draw if the result is, in fact, a draw. If the system chooses such a Lucky Pick score, a new Lucky Pick score will be automatically generated until such time as a legal score is generated. Please Note: Lucky Pick scores are not eligible to win game pools. You may enter predictions as far into the season as you wish.
GAME POOL
Winner of the pool:
The sum of the differential of the predicted & actual scores for both teams is calculated giving your nett difference.
eg. If you predict 30/15
and the actual result is 20/10
Then your nett difference is (30-20)+(15-10) = 10 + 5 = 15.
The lowest nett difference wins the week (provided the person predicted the correct winning side or a draw correctly). All people predicting the incorrect winner are disqualified from winning the game for the specific week.
All week results add up together to form an overall champion at the end of the tournament.
POINTS SYSTEM
There are two ways of gaining points:
• By predicting the correct winner, called “Result Points”
• By making a prediction close to the actual score, called “Bonus Points”
1. Result points
– Predicting the correct winning side gives you 25 points.
– Predicting the correct result of a draw gives you 75 points.
2. Bonus points
In addition to this, you get bonus points depending on how close you are to the actual score. The bonus points work as follows (independent of predicting the correct winner/ draw):
*Nett Difference = 0; Bonus points = 40
*Nett Difference = 1 to 2; Bonus points = 28
*Nett Difference = 3 to 5; Bonus points = 20
*Nett Difference = 6 to 10; Bonus points = 15
*Nett Difference = 11 to 15; Bonus points = 10
*Nett Difference = 16 to 20; Bonus points = 4
(Please Note the nett difference calculation was described in the Game Pool Section)
These points are accumulated throughout the season.
The highest overall points at the end of the season is the overall winner.
ACCOUNTS SYSTEM
Each competitor has a competitor number, user ID and account.
