8.6 to Vijay, 139.5 kph, Clatter! Vijay shoulders arms and hears the death knell. It landed outside off stump, hit the seam and cut in. Vijay lifted his bat in the air and allowed it to pass him but a nasty little surprise awaited him. The ball moved in off the seam to take out the off stump. Crash! Thanks for coming Steyen sticks out his tongue as he reaches the rest of his team-mates. Was it an intended outswinger that hit the seam and came in? Or was it cos of something else . we might never know. 40/214.1 to Tendulkar, 142.2 kph, Got him! Steyn rulez. It came in the air, landed on a length, around the middle and off stump line and curved away. Tendulkar stuttered out to drive, the length drawing him forward, and he was then done in by the away movement. He did push his bat slightly outside the line, trying to cover for the away swing but the ball moved fractionally more and kissed the outer edge. Fabulous delivery. Tendulkar’s forward movement wasn’t as smooth; he stuttered out… 56/3
58.1 to Badrinath, 135.2 kph, Steyn takes out Badrinath. South Africa climb all over India. It was a length delivery on the middle and leg, tailing in with the shiny side, flicked straight to short midwicket. Soft dismissal but that’s that. SA take great control over the game. 221/6
58.4 to Saha, 140.7 kph, Saha does a Vijay, if you can call it that. He shoulders arms and has lost his off stump on debut. It cut in from outside off stump, Saha lets it go but it isn’t going anywhere but towards the off stump. Clatter! Bye bye! 222/7
60.3 to Khan, 141.8 kph, Steyn continues to rock on in style. Five-for. It landed short of length, cut in to collide with the inside edge and fell on to the stumps. Zaheer was looking to force it away but ended up pushing an angled bat at it. Gone! 226/8
62.2 to Mishra, 143.9 kph, Cleaned up! Steyn lets out a roar of joy! Another tailing in with the shiny side, from just outside off stump, Mishra thinks he is GR Viswanath and goes for a late cut and edges it on to his stumps! What a dramatic final session this has been, Immense fun. 228/9
64.4 to Harbhajan Singh, Stand up and applaud Steyn. Seven wickets for him and he rushes to get the ball to keep as a souvenir. Full, moving in late with the shiny side, it moves past the defensive prod, to hit the back pad. Dead plumb! 233/10 |

5.1 to Gambhir, 145.2 kph, ho ho ho what a jaffa right up, of all the deliveries at all the times Morkel bowls this one first ball of the morning! angling in, just back of a length, pitches off, holding its line enough, Gambhir is committed into the stroke but ends up playing inside the line, getting a faint edge 31/1 |
GG ok Stormers it will be. Bulls it will be – now …. Sharks – Chiefs?????
28
I might tell you the right picks in the first 2 or 3 rounds , but then like last year i will climb down the ladder to a mid position like the Stormers do year after year.
22 – Irish I still Ireland will just get that one. I will have Ireland for a win on my bru picks.
Blues – Hurricanes (no idea)
Force – Brumbies (think Brumbies)
Crusaders for sure
Reds to loose to Waratahs
Help!!!
Puma, I REALLY hope you are right. But remember that the Chiefs also played in the S14 final last year. Well, they were there, or something… Sharks did not look to hot in the pre-season, and even the Stormers front row of JC Kritzinger and Deon Fourie gave the Sharks a hard time. Kanko and Kokkerot needs to up it, Adi needs to regain his form, Ruan should get comfortable at 10 and someone needs to step up and claim 12.
Smit should play hooker.
If all these things do not happen, I suspect it could be a looooong day for the Sharks.
Please tell me if I’m wrong.
Puma – I think I will go France!!! I want Ireland to win, but this is a game and I have to be realistic. Can’t judge France on their game against Scotland. They can be huge at home.
Lucky Submarine 😆 Badrinath is batting so slow, we must get Sehwag fast , this guy dont stop when he get to 100 , he goes to 300s.
Irish, on paper I wuld go for Hurricanes and Brumbies, otherwise no idea.
34 – Irish, Go for Hurricanes, Brumbies, Crusaders, Waratahs.
They don’t win you can put the blame on me 😆
Think they should though.
Irish,
Blues
Brumbies
Saders
Waratahs
SB – it is the early rounds that are the most difficult. You often find super teams with big names failing as the team dynamics are play a bigger role than big names. Ask me I’m Irish. 😆
Ok now????
Hurricanes or Blues…different views here.
Puma you know me. I never blame anyone but myself and my team. 😆
36 – Irish, Okay but I feel Ireland could beat France.
Think I should wait till Wednesday. I see I can’t see what others predict until I have made my predictions.
Where do I find the log for Six Nations?
43 – Irish, then go with my picks 😆
41
I go in the early rounds for the home teams, but hell the Lions … and the Bulls make it more difficult this time.
😉 Puma I like going opposition and if my team wins I’m happy – if they loose I get the points on Superbru. Either way I win. Just some Irish psychology.
SB@47 – exactly – The Lions can be huge and the Cheetahs have beaten the Bulls before – so it is really difficult. Don’t really know if home ground advantage is always a good thing. In Six Nations when the big boys play each other I would go home team, but Super 14 is more difficult
Puma@46 OK 😆
Will be back a bit later. Cheers for now.
35 – GG, Think Sharks will surprise you this Sat. I know our backs are not that great and our centres. Just don’t write us off mate. We play at 7pm too humidity will be huge factor too.
1 – Irish, Cheers mate. Will get GBS to do a log for you here with the S14 teams.
48 – Irish, Good one 😀
Right back to work , just get Sehwag.
Friggin Sehwag has his century, come on the blommetjies for heavens sake, are they now going to undo all the good that was done?
37 – Super, See Sehwag is on a 100. If we don’t take his wicket soon think this will turn into a draw.
35 – GG, I hope you wrong mate, also don’t take those warm-up games too serious.
Adi probably wont play this weekend think he is still carrying a injury and Swannie, so yes, our centres don’t look good. Also a bit of a problem at FH.
Don’t worry too much about our front row for now. We will do fine. It is our centres and FH that is a worry. Ruan wont start this weekend I don’t think. Hope they play Meyer there if Ruan can not start. Centre is where Chiefs will target us the most I feel.
DAMN, too busy working and missed Sehwag go out.
Got bowled out by Parnell on 109.
Now looking a bit better.
Puma, 58.
Thanks for giving me some hope dude. I really back all SA teams, unless they play against the Stormers off course.
Blikses, its huge what a difference 2-4 players can make. Ruan, Harnandez and Adi withou injury, and then Steyn back at the team and suddenly…
