It is again time for all our esteemed rugby gurus and knowledgeable bloggers to pick the South African players who performed best over this weekend. Teams might differ a lot from the previous week, because we want these weeks’ best performers.

Selectors nominate the players , only 1 player per position, yes you must make up your mind. If you nominate 2 your picks will be discarded.

Try and make sure you pick a player in his regular playing position. (i know it will be difficult with coaches  DM and JP)

Make picks before Monday 16h30.

RT will do the calculation and publish our team.

Bloggers not part of the R-T selection panel is requested to submit their teams too. We will compare ours with the Team of the week picked by the Guru,s (read selectors).Lets make this a fun filled selection game.

Please use this format to post your teams, it makes it easier to copy and paste

15 – Joe Petersen – Fast becoming my Bokke incumbant
14 – Gerhard van den Heever
    13 – Jaque Fourie
    12 – Wynand Olivier
    11 – Bryan Habana
    10 – Morné Steyn – 35 points including 2 tries
9 – Fourie du Preez, with Ricky Januarie hot on his heels
    8 – Pierre Spies
7 – Juan Smith, with Francois Louw hot on his heels
6 – Deon Stegmann or Heinrich Brussow
5 – Victor Matfield, with Andri Bekker deserving special mention
4 – Flip van der Merwe – Worked really hard and always went forward
    3 – WP Nel
2 – Tiaan Liebenberg, with Gary Botha hot on his heels
    1 – Gurthro Steenkamp

No Lions selected because defence was not up to scratch. Sharks disapointed, Cheetahs worked bloody hard… so it’s natural that most players would come from Bulls and Stormers.

Remember, this is for the performance of this weekend alone, no other matches included!

No ash there is many sites picking that sort of team, Australian and NZ sites also pick teams like this one. This is SA players. There is also a springbok barometer in SA. Lets try this one as it is. Thanks

    carol @ 17
    uhm
    nooooooooo? 😀

  • 20

    carol @ 17
oh yes, now i get it (light bulb thingy)
    welsch players are k*k ….
so when our k*k players go there, they build up so much confidence from playing against k*kker players
that they come back playing sooooooooo much better rugby!! 😯

  • 21

Morne you bloody @sshole how could you say joubert had a better game than ricky. Why is there no mention made of aplon. Everyone said we had midgets in the backline, how that midgets is proving them wrong in defence.

  • 22

    wezwp @ 21
a good morning to you wez
    and
    how are you this morning?

  • 23

“If you can’t beat them, cite them!”

    😉

  • 24

21: jp speel skrummie, ricky speel stut, hoe kan jy die twee wil vergelyk ?

  • 25

    #21,

Ricky was good, I thought Joubert was better.

Aplon was good, Mjekevu was better.

Same for most players I thought was very good, but not better than my first choices as listed.

  • 26

    Morning all

Hope you had a fab weekend…

    15 Joe Pietersen
    14 Gerhard van den Heever
    13 Jacque Fourie
    12 WO
    11 Habana
    10 M.Steyn
    9 F.du Preez
    8 P.Spies
    7 J.Smith
    6 D.Stegmann
    5 V.Matfield
    4 F.van der Merwe
    3 B.Harris
    2 T.Liebenberg
    1 G.Steenkamp
