Juandre Kruger, who is currently playing in the English Premiership for the Northampton Saints, has signed with the Blue Bulls.

Kruger will join the Bulls in the beginning of June 2010 on a contract until May 2013.

Kruger starred for the Blue Bulls in 19 matches in 2008 after which he departed for Europe, but he has been one of the Bulls’ stalwarts during his time at Loftus.

The 24-year-old is a product of Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch and he first tasted senior provincial rugby in 2007 when he played a few matches for Western Province.

He won the European Challenge Cup with the Northampton Saints in 2009 and they are currently in a good position on the log in the Heineken Cup, Premiership as well as Anglo Welsh Cup.

Kruger said Loftus Versfeld is the place where he wants to be and he believes the Bulls are the best team and franchise in the world.

“The coaching staff, the management team, the facilities and the whole culture at Loftus is every rugby player’s dream and I am very excited about my second spell with the Bulls.”

Kruger played with fellow South Africans such as Brett Sharman, Regardt Dreyer and Brian Mujati at Saints and the fact that coaches like Jim Mallinder, Dorian West and Paul Grayson wholeheartedly believed in him, meant he could maximise his potential in the Northern Hemisphere.

“In Europe you play against international opposition in every match. I therefore gained a lot of experience and the Heineken Cup forced me to sharpen up my lineout play as well as my decision making and contact skills.”

Excellent news, I was always afraid that he might come back and play for the Stormers. Now we will be sorted once Matfield and Bakkies retire.

Locks post 2011, Van der merwe and Kruger.

Wilhelm steenkamp will always be the bridesmaid.

Any wagers that this was planned?

He knew Matfield and bakkies would take all the starting spots in 2009 so he cashed in(with the bulls management aware that it is only temporary) and now that Heyneke is back(he recruited him in 2007 or earlier) it made the decision much easier.

I was really worried about having steenkamp/mabeta taking over from matfield, now I can sleep easier.

I hope this site starts up when the playing start as it is a graveyard at the moment.

Does anyone have a Dreambox that actually work in SA? Maybe only GBS will be able to answer but maybe someone else knows.

But seriously i then saw it on tv and it was so blatent, just walking along his team mate in front of him gnashing away, and only a 2 match ban.
