They must have read about it. They must have heard about it. They must have planned for it. Graeme Smith, Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla have played a Test there before. Nothing, though, can be preparation enough for an Indian comeback from the dead at Eden Gardens.

On Sunday, South Africa met the devil himself, and didn’t know what to do. They had reached 218 for 1 in 58 overs, via assured and quick centuries from Amla and debutant Alviro Petersen, when the famous Eden Gardens turnaround began. Eight wickets fell for 43 runs

South Africa: 1 Graeme Smith (capt), 2 Alviro Petersen, 3 Hashim Amla, 4 Jacques Kallis, 5 AB de Villiers (wk), 6 JP Duminy, 7 Ashwell Prince, 8 Paul Harris, 9 Wayne Parnell, 10 Dale Steyn, 11 Morne Morkel.

India: 1 Virender Sehwag, 2 Gautam Gambhir, 3 M Vijay, 4 Sachin Tendulkar, 5 VVS Laxman, 6 S Badrinath, 7 MS Dhoni (capt/wk), 8, Harbhajan Singh, 9 Zaheer Khan, 10 Amit Mishra, 11 Ishant Sharma.

26 – Super, Hold that heart boet, Sehwag is going like a jet 🙄

Now on 125 off 155 balls. India 232. If we don’t get them out they will get a huge score and could probably win this test. Shame after our great start.

31 – mistake there. Sehwag on 125 off 115 balls.

Are any of our bowlers at least looking the part ?

  • 35

    26 – Super………hahahahahah. Only see my mistake there now. 118 I meant.

  • 36

    Fark, the cricket sucks!

Why can’t we string 2 good Tests together, back to back??

  • 37

Protea’s besig om al die goeie werk van 1ste toets weg te gooi, soos met die Aussie reeks: wen wonderlik in Aus, maar gooi toe naam weg in SA.

Miskien met hul hul naam verander na die Yo-Yo’s ?

265/2 Sehwag on 135 off 135 balls. Tendulkar on 80 now.

Tough for our bowlers at the moment. But they have not run away with it yet.

36 – GBS, Think we need world class spin bowlers for this test. Our fast bowlers are doing nothing much here. India play spin very well.

  • 40

37 – BdB it looks like we doing just that. Then we were in a similar position yesterday and when one fell the rest just collapsed. Maybe we get one of them out it could happen to them. Well HOPING. Seems like they will make a huge score and who knows we could lose this test. We really need a wicket but those two are well in. Sehwag and Tendulkar are world class batsmen.

Manne die game is in 30 minute weggegooi gister, ons kan nie met ons boulaanval fout vind nie, laasweek briljant. Hierdie blad moes ons 400+ gegee het. Dan was daar bietjie druk op Indiee

  • 42

Yesterday we were batting positive and then with Peterson going through the nervous nineties we started batting versigtig. From then on they jumped on us.

  • 43

sehwag have now added 102 runs to his total since he was dropped!!

  • 44

    Tendulkar gets his 100.

We are going to struggle. Hope we don’t lose this test or even worse lose it by a innings.

  • 45

Sehway GONE!!!!!!!!! At long last this partnership is broken.

Bowled by Duminy and caught by Prince. Maybe we have a chance now.

    Go Proteas get Tendulkar now.

  • 46

    typp – Sehwag

  • 47

    Mooi Harris !!!

    At last a WICKET….

    Tendulkar out !!!

  • 48

47 – Ash, Bugger here at my pc and MISS IT. Watching the whole damn morning and miss the other big one going 🙄

  • 49

  • 50

Puma, het ek nou verkeerd gehoor ?

  • 51

48 you must get a pvr, then you can rewind 🙂

  • 52

Nou kort ons ‘n paar vinnige paaltjies !!!

  • 53

Steyn to Badrinath, OUT, Steyn you beauty! It was the vicious off cutter, cutting in from just outside off stump, Badrinath is clueless as he pushes out tentatively and the ball rushes through the bat and pad gap to crash against the off stump. Badri totally exposed there; Steyn has been working him through that over. Totally outclassed. And South Africa are back in the hunt. The game is alive and kicking. What more can one ask?

  • 54

    53 – Tripps…….. HEEEEEHAAAAAAAA.. They having a mini collapse now 😀

Think we could be in with a chance now.

  • 55

As hul enigiets bo 400 kry, sal ons moet speel vir die gelykop.

  • 56

    India at close 342/5

Dhoni still to come. Think they will get at least 450. Going to be a struggle for us. This is only the 2nd day.

When we come in to bat need to bat really smart and just maybe not lose this test. Don’t see us winning it but make a draw out of it and we win the series.

Go Proteas, going to be tough but we can do it.

  • 57

Prince, Duminy and to a lesser extent, Smith and De Villiers ows us proper knocks in the second innings.

Remember, India is batting last. If we can post a lead of maybe 250 they will not get it on day 5.

57 – Hi Hokaai, welcome as I have never seen you here before.

If they bat well tomorrow, as they still have two good batsman in and Dhoni to come, India could land up with 500 or more. We need to bowl well and get them out quick tomorrow morning. Otherwise we will be batting to catch up and try and make a lead. It is in our bowlers hands, we get them out quick with them not more than 150 ahead of us, we could win this if we bat well. I feel they have the upper hand at the moment.
