India won the first one day International played at Jaipur by one run.
South Africa needed to score 64 off 31 balls when number 10 batsman Dale Steyn walked to the crease. No one gave South Africa a hope in hell. Dale and Parnell scored a brilliant partnership that took us to 8 runs short of a miraculous win. Parnell fought on gallantly and was run out in his attempt to draw the match. South Africa ended one run short. Pfheeew My poor Heart.

The Test series wasn’t closely fought – both teams won by an innings- in the conventional sense but the matches were intense and dramatic contests. It has, thus, left everybody hoping that the ODIs will be as interesting. Some key players are missing from both India and South Africa but, as Australia proved on their last trip here, the absence of personnel can be overcome.
Team news
Both teams have been hit hard by injuries: South Africa will miss Smith while India don’t have Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan. India’s injuries present more opportunities to the likes of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina to cement their places in the side. Kohli had a superb outing in the tri-series in Bangladesh and the pressure is on Raina, whose stock slipped after a poor ICC World Twenty20.
Pitch and conditions
“We’ve prepared a batting wicket. It is a 270 wicket,” curator Taposh Chatterjee said. In the last game played here, India nearly chased Pakistan’s 306 and one can expect another run-fest. However, dew is expected to play a role and the teams batting second might have an advantage.
Lol,the back lash will start with a serious beating for the Sharks 🙂
Jadeja to de Villiers, OUT, Jadeja deceives him with the arm ball, de Villiers makes room to smash that through the off side, misses it completely and the ball crashes onto the middle and leg stumps
AB de Villiers b Jadeja 25 (23b 4×4 0x6) SR: 108.69
231 – As long at it was not at the Sharks.
233 – Super agree we have to develope our own grown talent. Look we had Barritt and I rated him and now he is playing in the England Saxon side as he probably would never have got a look-in from the Bok coach. Pity. We sold our own FH from our U21’s it is crazy.
Then look how well all the Football teams do with buying most of their players in England so it is a professional era. I used to see only Scottish players play for Rangers and Celtic the biggest soccer teams in Scotland. Now there are only a few Scottish players in those teams most or imports from other countries. My mates said never ever would they have thought that would happen but it has. A professional era will do that.
If Sharks buy players then they must buy them young. Like we got Fransie playing for us at the age of 18. Develope them from there. I have no problems with that.
That shot that De Villiers got out to was awful.
242 – WE are done Super. Should have batted first I think and put the pressure on them to chase at night.
Petersen is still there with Kallis so maybe there is hope.
AB too is not doing it with the bat these days.
Okay guys.I’m off for a bit. Thanks for the chat. Will check in later.
AB is going through a bad patch, but at least he gets more than Duminy. But no luck on his side. Although he plays himself in and then lose concentration. Maybe we get a preview what the WC job does to the guy.
238 – Super, remember the Reds actually should have beaten the Tahs too. They are a better team this year. Saders will bring McCaw back for the Sharks game I have no doubt about that. McCaw was supposed to come back only the week after. They need to win now.
Then Saders can lose 3 and somehow they still come back and get into the semi or final. They just have this never give up attitude which is a winners attitude just like the Aussies used to have in their cricket. Bulls have that now and I like to see more SA sides getting it. I suppose you have to win some to get it. Bulls sure have.
247 – Winston, Cheers mate. Good to catch up again.
South Africa RR 5.29
Last 5 ovs 18/1 RR 3.60
Remember to go do your Varsity Cup Picks for tomorrow… 4 matches again
Wonder if Tuks can beat NMU with more than the rest, that score difference is going up, up , up
251 – Super, That is just way, way too slow.
253@ Tuks is decidedly average… but NMMU is decidedly kak…
If they can keep it up for 10 overs without losing a wicket it will be fine. 5 per over
Alviro Peterson out… bat not grounded in time… flok
Neewat, nou gaan ek verder rugby kyk…. hierdie ronde-balletjie-hard-moer game gets my goat!

Nehra to Petersen, 1 run, OUT, 122.0 kph, Sreesanth the man there! He tucks it down to deep square leg and risks the second run, Sreesanth charges forward and throws it flat and quick to Dhoni, he breaks the stumps but Petersen is guilty of not grounding his bat, it was in the air and it took the 3rd umpire a bit of time to be absolutely sure
AN Petersen run out 9 (21b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85
259@ SuperBul – I’m in the Bushveld this coming weekend at a private game farm… no rugby for me.
260 – Super looks like we are done. Have to re-think for Wednesday. Maybe select Amla.
Okay that is me out of here. Thanks for the company Super during the Crici and you to Winston.
Catch up tomorrow. Cheers all.
261 – GBS, Sounds awesome. Enjoy it.
Cheers back tomorrow. Enjoy your evening all.

Nehra to Morkel, OUT, Nehra punches the air in delight! He gets the ball tpo nip back in from outside off, the ball skids through and appears to hit him in line with the off stump in normal speed, but for some reason Albie looks disappointed with the decision, was he upset with himself or the decision? I really don’t know yet, need to see another replay
JA Morkel lbw b Nehra 2 (8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 25.00
End of over 31 (11 runs) South Africa 161/5 (138 runs required from 19 overs, RR: 5.19, RRR: 7.26)
Sreesanth to Boucher, OUT, 127.9 kph, the bowling change works! Sreesanth tempts him to go for the slash and Boucher obliges, a touch wide outside off, there’s a thick edge and big deflection off the toe of the bat, Dhoni falls to his right and takes it
MV Boucher c †Dhoni b Sreesanth 5 (9b 0x4 0x6) SR: 55.55
this match very firmly in India’s hands here
