India won the first one day International played at Jaipur by one run.
South Africa needed to score 64 off 31 balls when number 10 batsman Dale Steyn walked to the crease. No one gave South Africa a hope in hell. Dale and Parnell scored a brilliant partnership that took us to 8 runs short of a miraculous win. Parnell fought on gallantly and was run out in his attempt to draw the match. South Africa ended one run short. Pfheeew My poor Heart.

The Test series wasn’t closely fought – both teams won by an innings- in the conventional sense but the matches were intense and dramatic contests. It has, thus, left everybody hoping that the ODIs will be as interesting. Some key players are missing from both India and South Africa but, as Australia proved on their last trip here, the absence of personnel can be overcome.
Team news
Both teams have been hit hard by injuries: South Africa will miss Smith while India don’t have Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh and Zaheer Khan. India’s injuries present more opportunities to the likes of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina to cement their places in the side. Kohli had a superb outing in the tri-series in Bangladesh and the pressure is on Raina, whose stock slipped after a poor ICC World Twenty20.
Pitch and conditions
“We’ve prepared a batting wicket. It is a 270 wicket,” curator Taposh Chatterjee said. In the last game played here, India nearly chased Pakistan’s 306 and one can expect another run-fest. However, dew is expected to play a role and the teams batting second might have an advantage.
59 – Super, Agree and Albie is not batting as well as he was.
Just read that Matfield has been cited? Those damn Aussies.
Super, Feel we should have mades space for Van der Merwe.
Okay Sehwag is gone. Have some hope now 😀
i wonder if GBS is spending some “quality time” with Handbriekie or is he just hiding from the sun or anything slightly noisy. I heard that the after party at Loftus can be gruesome.
HEY DJY GOOOOOI MIELIEEES
Last Bat V Sehwag run out 46 (37b 6×4 2×6) SR: 124.32
Fall of wicket: 89/2 (14.2 ov); Partnership: 79 runs, 12.3 overs, RR: 6.32 (Sehwag 41, Karthik 31)
They made a big school boy error not playing Roelof here,he would be great in these conditions and he’s a fighter.
What did Victorious Matt do now, i never saw any incident.
64 – Super, GBS must have had a HUGE party after. Probably still sleeping or spending time with Handbrieke.
67 – Super the hearing is tomorrow. Go read on Voldy.
66 – Winston agree 100%. Should have had the Van here today. He is a fighter for sure. Always enjoy watching him. Need two spinners I think. Missed something. He can bat too.
Jeewis all our Locks have a curse on them now, i am glad that Flip vd Merwe played so well. But they are knocking us hard there if we lose Vic now, in light of all the missing personnel.
That loaned player can not come back now, he played S14 for another team now.
I think we only need 3 quick bowlers with Kallis as cover as the 4th quick and having 2 spinners would add balance to the side.

Eeeeish no man it is a nice weekend , no no no. 😆
Yeah, saw the thing about Papa Matfield, usual story,we always get shafted with citing’s..
71 – Super, Think Aussies are clutching to straws. Bugger them hope it backfires. Anyhow Bulls will beat Tah’s with Matfield or no Matfield.
Yip problems with all the Lock Injuries. Sorry that we have your lock now. but think now that he has flown out with the Sharks today, he wont be playing for Bulls next week.
Hope Matfield gets off.
74 – Winston for sure always the saffa sides getting cited. Always one of our sides. Aussies sound desperate to me.

Think you are not allowed to play for 2 different teams in the same year.
Phew!!!!!!!!!!!! 15 off that over from J. Botha. Thought he would slow it down. Damn we need to tighten it up a bit now.
India 115/2 (17.6 ov)
India RR 6.38
Last 5 ovs 41/1 RR 8.20
77 – Super think you are right.

Puma how about getting the world record chase right there in India. I must stop joking it is getting serious now.
FINALLY another wicket falls. Now keep it tight boys. Or get another one quick.
When ever they seem to start dominating we seem to get a wicket, lets keep it up.
81 – That would be to chase down our own record of 438! Phew don’t think that is possible on that pitch. Then it is a small boundary. Just don’t think we can do it with their bowlers.
Missed that one was it a run out again
83 – Winston, Yip a wicket goes then they slow down a bit. Need another one soon.
Must say cricinfo is slow today, it took them ages to give Tendulkar out. Maybe the commentator had a attack.
18.2
Langeveldt to Karthik, OUT, gone! Surprised by the short ball, Karthik top-edges a hurried pull to Petersen at mid-on, easy catch off the splice of the bat and that’s the third wicket down
KD Karthik c Petersen b Langeveldt 44 (56b 5×4 1×6) SR: 78.57
Damn hope Kallis is fine with that hand. We just cant afford to lose him now. Also was bowling well in that over.
